ive found that to date the best midi brass sound ive had comes from a yamaha cvp-92 ep although it aint brill it aint that bad i am a trumpet player and have found it very good

if you have access to either a hardware device(SB-64 or better) or some software DXI synth(basicaly anything that will load a sound font)...try this site.,..if you can't find good brass there, then you just aren't looking.

I've been using a Roland U-220 Sound Module for brass for 11 years and find that it works very well...it also has ways that you can tweak the sounds and add effects...when new they sold for $700 but you can pick one up now for $125 --- $200 on e-bay..
It also has great Piano sound and 128 other sounds plus drum sets....
