I've got a big problem I still couldn't manage to resolve.

I own a YAMAHA PSR-730 Keyboard, which is a very good instrument and has a huge amount of high quality instruments. However, I have no idea how to access them via midi. Once I found a set which I was able to import into Cakewalk, but I still couldn't get the instruments (for example the great "Feedback Guitar") to sound as if they're played directly on the keyboard. Do I have to change some midi settings in my keyboard's menu? What am I supposed to do? The GM Brass Section sucks, whereas I have so many excellent variations on my PSR 730!!!

I would be very very thankful for any help!

Try the Instrument definition file at http://www.svpworld.com/links.htm

Import that into cakewalk, if you need instructions let me know.

If that fails to give you access to all your instruments, you will have to enter them manually. You'll find all the necessary information on what bank # and patch # each of your panel voices is in the back of your PSR 730 manual.

If you need a "for instance" let me know. I have a PSR 740....

My midi files created on it are at http://www.roncat.net/private.htm

I am using Cakewalk HS 2002, if you have not upgraded to that I suggest you do. At least that would give you the XG set of voices, Cw HS 2002 has an XG instrument list in the default listings.
