Check Pearl or Tama Drums...they both have decent starter sets

Yeah - the Pearl Export is a good-quality starter kit, and it won't make you go broke either. Get a good quality set of cymbals to go with it. Zildjian, Sabian or Meinl are all OK, but it's all down to the budget. Also, try and get the cymbals as part of the kit without having to get them separately. If the shop doesn't have a kit/cymbal deal on, then try and work something out. However, I'm pretty sure the shop will have some sort of deal like that anyway. Most shops do.
Anyway, happy hunting!! :)
I have got a Premier and thats good.

Well, It all depends on the type music your trying to learn or play. For example I have a Limited Edition Roger's set which I use for my Jazz Ensemble and I used to have a pearl set which sounded good for Rock and such, Over all Id go with a Ludwig. :)
my hubby has a 5 piece Pearl set (w/cymbals)
he got it barley used at a local shop for about 1/2 of retail price
check around, you might find a good deal

I would definatley reccomend a DW kit if you're starting. It will last you and hold up well, then I would probably move on to a Tama set or something liken to it.

Depends on how much cash you have. If you're just looking for a starter set, CB drums aren't that bad, nor are Pulse. They aren't the best, but they're cheaper that a lot of what I've seen from Pearl and Tama, though Pearl and Tama are much higher quality.
