I've tried a few sequencers, but I'd have to say that
Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 is the way to go when creating
General MIDI songs.

It has lots of great freatures few bugs and is Windows
2000 compadible!

If you'd like to buy Cakewalk, or want to learn more
I'd suggust heading over to the official Cakewalk
site for a more in-depth overview.

The Cakewalk site is: www.cakewalk.com

Yes, Cakewalk products are good... easy to learn and use. However, Sonar is now the latest product on the "Pro Audio" line.

I use Fruityloops which i believe is the best sequencer out there full stop! Easy to use and proffesional and cheaper than most!
But then again your probably gonna dload it anyway. it is definately worth PURCHASING for the free updates

Is Fruityloops just an audio loop editor, or can it handle MIDI and audio?

what sequencer would u recommend for playing back midi files? I use Melody Assistant. But do u think this has the best sound base? I'm looking for a sequencer with a good sound base.
