I think britney is awesome in every way.... and about all her songs sounding the same?!?!? I hate when people say that because 99% of all artists who release music....all their songs sound the same too. it's because that's their style of music.
All of Blink182 songs are the same all of Eminem's songs are very similar but no one complains about them... I'm not dissing them cause I like them both but still leave britney a lone. Aaw, y'all give her a break...lol :p She's not THAT bad. I will agree that sometimes yes, she is a little overrated and overexposed, But she's out of the spotlight now, she's taking a 6-month break to focus on her family (her aunt's got cancer :() and other aspects of her career i imagine. I will also agree that yea, her vocal ability could be a little better, but its not horrible. She's more of a performer and dancer anyway. She works her booty off in the dance studio (watch MTV's Diary or a Making the Video) to please the crowd and does a good job! :p Anyhoot....yea I like her .....lol

As far as her singing goes she must have some talent to have made it to where she is.

Don't like how she is lipsyncing. Maybe she should cut down on the dance moves so she can sing live. After all the whole point of going to see a live show is that its live.

Its very easy to judge someone when they're on display and there's always people who are gonna bag you.

She's doing what she loves and she's a superstar. Good on her and good luck to her, I dont think I could handle that kind of life. Could you do it?

I don't believe that Britney deserves the fame/fortune that she has. She can't sing...the only thing she can do is stay in tune---but a lot of people can do that! I don't agree with the way she dresses either. When she first came out, she was this sweet innocent looking girl...particularly in the vid for "Sometimes" but now she pretty much walks around in as little clothing as possible to attract male fans. Doesn't she ever think about how her image affects little kids?

People have to separate singers from entertainers.
Brittany is a entertainer. Mariah Carey is a singer. The best way to tell the difference is listen to a ballad (if they have enough guts to try) Here's another way, think of who you would pay to see unplugged. I'd go see Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Patty LaBelle, Aretha Franklin etc... on stage with just mic and piano back up. Could you say the same for Brittany?

Damned good point furinkasan. Personally I'm not much of a Britney fan, but even going back to "Baby One More Time", and she was selling an image, not herself. It just so happens that image has changed (for the worse, imo).

I've been a Britney fan for years. Her image was concocted the same way everyone else's is in the industry - to make money and get attention. So I can't agree with the Britney bashers because she was made that way and finding her own self as a person has got be a joke after growing up world famous. She's not the tightest vocalist but she's a great performer. I'll probably be a fan forever, though she'd be smart to get an older makeover and move her career in a different direction.

whoa, crazyguy05. i didnt know brit's aunt had cancer! i've been a huge fan of brit ever since "baby one more time" was released during my senior year of high school. singing it with my friends helped the drudgery of the working day pass by. and yes, while her voice could be better, brit is ALL entertainer--her dancing is excellent.

If it wasn't for the fact that she was backed by the mysterious "Disney Machine", she would have never made it this far. Now she is getting too old and the Disney Machine can no longer hid her behind the "sweet" image they manufactured. As with all past performers backed by the machine, her career life is very limited (approx 5-6 years). Same thing is happening to N'Sync. The only way Justin Timberlake is surviving is because he broke away from the machine for his solo career.

I think Britney is an interesting character. Even though I have my own theories about how she got famous (I'm not going to say them, cause a lot of people on this board would hate me), she still has made it.

Britney has catchy beats, but that's only because of Max Martin (Writer of ...One more time, Overprotected, etc.). And somehow she has gotten a cult of fans behind her.

Like many people here I don't agree with the image, but I mean no matter what female artist you like these days, they all sell sex.
