You can download there songs on Kazaa but alot of them have a loop in them so you can't burn them. There are a few that don't have it. Also there are some that say no loop on them but they do have the loop.

Hmmm . . . they also have "Origin" from around 2000, and several other smaller albums that were put out locally and with limited copies created. "Fallen" is their first release that has received airtime from someone other than their own town. :D

i definitly love bring me to life the song is just crazy and like my brother said it is the kind of song that you would probaly her in a movie when someone is dying. it has a very gothic sound to it, but it is amazing. that is the only song off of that album that i like, but maybe i need to listen to it again. but that song bring me to life is one of may favs. at this momemt, i didn't really like the video, cause the chick died at the end, but other than that the specail effects where cool and kind of reminded me of the spider man movie. but all in all they cool

I only heard 'Bring Me To Life' last week at Corrosion in Wolverhampton. Very cool song.

The version I heard seemed to be more ambient and 'trance-like' at the start then went rocky later on, different to the ver played on radio.

yes...good band, unique style for a rock band due to her voice and use of lots of keys.
Bring Me to Life is the only track with the cheesy Linkin Park style vocals done by Paul McCoy who is actually part of antother band called 12 Stones. the rest of the album is more ambient

i would not be surprised to find many dance-style remixes of the tracks since they lay a foundation that just says "Remix Me"

i wouldn't mind getting my hands on the acapellas :)

They are wicked, the song bring me to life was really something that has needed doing for a long time, a band name Velvetstone, if anyone knows them had a vibe a lot like this, but tey were dropped and dissapeared etc. The mix of Glam goth and plain rock is a bit of something that was needed to shake up the system!!!!!

If you think listening to them on CD is great, you should see them in concert. Amy is a short one, but damn, she can belt out anything you throw at her. Here in Indiana, they're VERY popular at the moment. At the concert, my friends and I arrived at Verizon Music Center (the concert venue) two hours early. All the evanescence shirts were already sold out at every shirt stall. If you have the chance to see them, I'd strongly suggest that you do, you won't regret it at all.

Yep, absolutely. I'll admit that the current single is quite catchy, but the rest of the songs on the album are ****e, they all sound the same, and I'm pretty sure all the songs use the same chord sequence!

Lacuna Coil did it first, and a hell of a lot better. In my opinion, the bird from Lacuna Coil has a better voice than the bird from Efferfleshence (bless you!) ;-)

There are plenty of new breed bands that sound much better than Linkin Park etc. I think the reason why bands like Linkin Park and Evanescence cause so much debate, is because they sound different to all the boy band crap that's out at the moment, and because they use heavy guitars they sound like metal, at least to a non-metalhead. So non-metallers like it coz it's a bit more meaty, and has better songwiting. But to the true metal fans, they aren't anywhere close, so the metal community hates them, and regards them as rip offs.

BTW, which kind of music are you into ashmarsden?

Yes, if you bothered to listen to some of their pre/un-released stuff (albums: Origin and Not For Your Ears) you will find that these 'commercial bull****' tracks were in fact written and played in 2000-1, therefore not written solely for commercialism and money making.

Evanescence is not the usual kind of music I'd listen to. I can say that as for a start its original and there is DEFINITE talent there - Amy Lee is a very good vocalist, many new bands rely on screaming, well fine, perhaps its jealousy but anyone can scream and call it music. Evanescence really is, and it covers a lot of bases, there are some heavy tracks and then some more quiet, non-guitar ones - and that's just on Fallen.

On another note, if you like Fallen I would STRONGLY recommend those other two albums and these tracks in particular:

When a friend of mine sent me "Bring me to life", here in Italy (where I live ;)), Evanescence could been also a new vacuum-cleaner brand :p
I found their song near a Linkin Park style, and I liked it very much... waiting (and hoping) to listen (and see) them also here in Italy.
After a month, Evanescence's video arrived on MTV, with the wonderful album "Fallen"... and now they are one of the soundtracks of this italian summer.
I think Amy's voice is one of the best voices I ever heard. Evanescence deserve all the fans they have conquered all over the world (me included).

The best thing about Evanescence is how pure Amy's voice is. She can really sing, and in Bring Me To Life, right after you realize how much you like her, it drops into Awesome rock/punk/grunge (ya know the style) that has a sweet driving beat. Its a great mix.

Wow, I love this band. This is just the kind of thread I was looking for for my first post! Anyone been to their official site yet? I go there like all the time. I *love* "Bring Me to Life" and I sing it all the time (even if I'm not recording it like some lucky blokes!), and Tourniquet, Going Under, well...most of the songs rule! I'm not *too* fond of the slow songs but it's still better than some of the music they play on pop stations. There's a song that wasn't on the Cd "Fallen" and I think it's on a CD called "Origin," but it's called Missing. You guys should check it out. And if you haven't seen it already, their video for Going Under rocks in a very creepy way.

Evanescence has cancelled all their Nov/Dec tour dates! They're gonna still do their shows in NZ, AUS, and JAP, but the American Tour is cancelled!!! They're still performing tomorrow (Sunday, 16th) on the AMA's at 8:00 so catch them then... I heard a rumor that they're doing "My Immortal".

I don't think they r splitting up, or at least i hope not. According to the Kerrang magazine interview Amy Lee gave on the 2nd of November. Ben just had some problems and left without saying anything

Also, i went to see them in Cardiff , Wales and they were good but all the guitar solos done by ben wasn't there coz he wasn't, so she was just singing to backing tracks.

yes you are right...Ben Moody from Evanescence has left the band during a tour and is not coming back to the band. They have replaced with Cold guitarist, can't remember the name. He will be with the band till the next album recording..

Ben Moody is Awesome! It's such a disappointment to see them 2 (him and Amy Lee) part ways. I saw them on IMX and they were like bother and sister. They're both awesome. I wish i saw them when they played here in Hawaii. Rock on!

If you've been paying attention to the news, it seems like Ben is really done (touring, at least) with the band. According to a reliable source (Syd from Dean Heathen), Ben's been doing fine. He's written a couple of songs with Avril Lavigne, and is reportedly working on some songs for a soundtrack or too.

I've read through alot of threads on this band, and it seems like there are a lot of mixed emotions where they are concerned.

Personally, I love the band, but can agree with lots of other who say their music sounds the same. However, Each song has it's own meaning, different words, and let's face it, no matter what Amy is singing about, her voice is HYPNOTIC!

So what do you think??

My personal Favorite on the album is Tourniquette, with My Immortal running a close second...

There are a couple of songs I am not thrilled with, but Going Under, Fallen, Bring me To life, and Tourniquette are DEFINATELY keepers!

I totally agree about My Immortal... that song is just so beautiful! I am a big Buffy/Angel fane, (the TV shows) and found a person that makes music videos with parts of the show... She did My Immortal and it was soooo cool!

It totally fit with the show and the relationship between them

I like evanescence, my favourite song on the albulm would have to be Haunted, it is so cool, with the choir and guitar riff. My Immortal (the band version) is also really good, it really shows off Amy Lees voice, and lets face it she does have an amazing voice, it is definately hypnotic.

hrm... I would have to disagree with that strongly, Blade. As some who hates Linkin Park and all their popularity signifies.

That's not to say I think Evanescence is a *great* band but they have a few good songs. They can write decently and their song is well-produced. Linkin Park writes the same song over and over again, and unforunately, it's a bad song, which includes a lot of rapping. And a screeching vocalist...

I think that Evanescence is pretty good. She has a pretty good voice, but the thing I was the most disappointed about when I heard the cd, was how all the songs sound a lot alike. They could probably be better if they had a little more variety.

My favorite lines on the whole CD are..:

They are awesome, Amy Lee has the most amazing voice. It's hard to pick a favorite song from fallen... cause they're all great. But I guess my favorites are Haunted, Whisper, and My Immortal band version.

Evanescence are the greatest thing to ever grace the world with it's presence, combing almost haunting neo-classical tracks (a mix of orchestras and Amy Lee's beautiful piano) with medium heavy guitar riffs and powerful drum/bass. They are something new, unlike any before them and they have set a new mix, combining rock, metal, post-grunge, gothic inspired and other music types they have cleared the way for people to stop sticking to one type of music and mix as they see fit. Aswell as making awsome music! The band consists of frontwoman and vocalist Amy Lee, Guitarists John LeCompt and Terry Balsalmo, Bassist Will Boyd and Drummer W. Rocky Gray. If you haven't heard them (if so you must have been under a rock for the past year!) then I implore you to do it now and you will fall in love with them as I have, and others have. :)

The newest thing you can get is - uhhh Anywhere But Home - A must have DVD for ALL Evanescence fans! But the only things not off Fallen are a corn cover, the song 'Farther Away" and "Missing" but most - likely, since we're all online, we've heard those.. but oh well it's still WICKED...

Well, apparently, it was a jiff....

Amy Lee from American goth pop band Evanescence has been composing music for the New Zealand-made film The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

And she claims she was offered a cameo in the Andrew Adamson-directed film shooting in the South Island. Only, after elaborating on her connections to the production on MTV.com, the film’s producers said that was news to them and no Evanescence music was planned for the soundtrack of the film, which has British composer Harry Gregson-Williams doing its score.

Still, Lee says the book was her favourite as child and the dark side of the adventure is dear to her heart and inspires much of her band’s music. As for that role, Lee said: "They were like, ‘Do you want to do a cameo?’ And I was like, ‘Hell yeah! I want to be somebody who gets murdered’."

It appears that cameo was yet more wishful thinking on Lee’s part.
