Pick number one
This pick is exceptionality great for a slap, or heavy rhythm style guitar playing on an acoustic guitar. If one of the corners breaks off you still have two corners yet to go. Its thickness.(46m) lets you change from a loud strum to a light strum. It’s not good for an electric guitar, or very long leads, but you could always try it. I hear that Dunlop has stopped making this pick, so the last time I bought one, well I bought 50.

Pick number two
This pick is ideal for lead guitar on either acoustic or electric guitars. If it breaks you still have one more use out of it. But you better plan to change your style slightly. The ribs on one side of the picks lets your pick slide along any brass or steel wound string, making the zip sound you hear in rock songs.
Thanks

Don't have a pic but I have always used a thumb pick ... this lets me use my fingers for finger picking or strumming ... and I can still use the pick in the regular way ...

I use a plain old 73mm pick for electric any thicker and I break too many strings.
This thread has got me thinking though, I might invest in some new fancy picks like that pick sliding one

I use dunlop jazz III's exclusively. Once in a while I'll have to exchange them for some bigger ones (when palm-muting for example), but I just can't seem to get it right with those big picks anymore.

Gibson Heavys - I'm a guitar teacher as well as playing in a duo, so I go thru them in bags of 72. Took a lot of practice originally to master getting a good strum on an acoustic guitar, but once mastered I found it easy to go from a Bob Dylan style strum to full on power chord riffs - I found it harder to go heavy using thin picks than to go light using heavy picks.

I have tried several and always end up back to my Fender Med. I hate those gray Dunlops. :-P
I also use bright picks so I can find them in the dark.

I use a dunlop 45mm. I have an acoustic guitar and I've tried different picks. In the musicshop, they told me that it doesn't matter which pick you use, only the sound is different.

My favorite pick would be this one but I don't play with it... It's not exactly the same but since I don't have a scanner this will have to do... mine is yellow and written in silver caught at the montreal show...
