Kobe! He has everything his airness had: the fade, the air, the shot. I mean just look at the commercial where they do the jordan to kobe fade away jump shot transition. It's exactly the same (well, of course mj's is better). T-mac is only better is because he is there go-to guy. I love t-mac n all, he's on my fantasy team (good stats), but Kobe (although not that good of stats) has to play with 3 other superstars, actually I should say soon to be hall of famers, is definitely the heir to the throne of his airness.

tmac hands down. I reply to a bunch of these and heres the deal when you compare two players directly like "kobe vs tmac" you compare their ability as an individual. Kobe won three rings with shaq and the lakers, not by himself. Peeps forget that shaq is the reason for those rings. Shaq and any allstar wins a championship. kobe and any allstar doesn't. If you compare kobe to tmac staight up without team accomplishments then its tmac vs kobe. If you say kobe has three rings or they kick ass becuase they got malone, payton etc, whether you know it or not your comparing t-mac vs. the lakers as a whole. I mean a ring is great but having 1 doesn't make you the best player individually, look at john salley, dennis rodman, robert parish. some bench scrubs have more rings than shaq and kobe put together. So it should be kobe vs tmac not the lakers vs tmac.

comparing the two last year they both did great. But i think tmac gets the edge, The boy is sick with his moves, i mean throwing a pass to yourself in traffic aint easy, ask kobe he tried it and failed at it. too bad sportscenter decided to not play it alot.

Kobe Bryant is definitely better. He has the "jordanesque" style and is the nba's (present) most clutch player. Also, his last couple of games (8 to be exact) he's been average 32+!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats insane!

Also, if n e of you have NBA TV and saw the Orland, Lakers game couple of weeks ago, you could see just how clutch kobe was.

That game was one of the greatest games of all time.

I'm not gonna argue about the fact that kobe is on a good team and t mac is carrying his and all, that's fine. But in my opinion, kobe still carries his team of superstars, which is much more noteworthy than carrying some other sorry east coast team (who are these "magic" you speak of :confused2 ) . As for the "next MJ" thing...there is no next MJ, there is only a first kobe bryant. Although as i remember in my childhood watching MJ, and as i watch kobe now, if i had never heard the hype of kobe being the next MJ, I would note that the way he plays really reminds me of him. Except i think MJ was a bit more selfish with the ball (please don't bash me for this comment). But he had to be since he didn't have quite as good of a supporting cast (with all due respect to pippen, and john paxson's lucky 3pt shot in '93 [anybody remember that?] in the first 3 championship runs, and pippen, kerr, rodman, kukoc and co. in the second 3peat). If kobe didn't have that great team behind him stealing part of the show, I think he could outdo jordan both in exhibited talent and statistics. He's (arguably) just as good of a jump shooter, not quite as good of a dunker, but nearly as good of a clutch player, and (once again arguably) has a bit better court vision and ballhandling skills.

That said, Bryant > Mcgrady
