Depends what you call rock, but some of my favorite Christian artists are Supertones who are sort of Ska/Punk, Plankeye is rock, Cadet is just awesome (they play before Sonic Flood concerts), and I personal love Pops Body Shop.

Hey
I'm playin in a church band here in Germany. We're rocky and jazzy but our miniser complained we would play enough christian music. Do you have a suggestion for us? That'd be great! Thanks.

well...there are christian songs in different languages but they aren't really rock. They're kind of like those old ceremony songs but they sound really cool. They're greek I think.

yes, they are..i have both their albums but i don't like all of the songs..only the singles seem to be good..i still haven't found a band that can beat Kutless
even the other day when i was watching WWE Tough Enough 3 they had 2 of Kutless' track playin in the background..and according to my friend they were featured on alternativeaddiction.com
they're probably pretty big in the usa

Well, I guess it all depends on what style of music you like as to what is out there. Personally I like harder sounds. POD is good. Evanescense is another gothic christian band. ( I know what people are saying but if you listen to the music they are talking about God and even say Christ). Thousand Foot Krutch is another one I like. There are alot of unsigned bands that are good too. Naos Project is one that is really good. They are soooo much better live than recorded. http://www.naosproject.com
I also enjoy Chasing Furies,Jars of Clay, Iona,Nichole Nordeman...
Just a few to put out there.

Switchfoot are really good,
Delirious? are giants in the UK, they are really good, and varied yet manage a distinct sound. They range from rocked up, to rock worship and spacey sounds.
SonicFlood, you might want to check out.
Kutless, D.C Talk, LifeHouse,
Oh,, audioarenaline.
If you like the punk side of things Relient K
on the harder side Opeth
Phatfish (although they might just be a UK thing)
Bushbaby
I can think of more, what sort of rock are you into?

audioslave

Delirious? get my vote. Other than that I'm fairly conservative(ish). I like some of the raunchier Hillsongs stuff and I really like 'Prophesy' by CCC Oxford Falls (I think).

Evanescense is another gothic christian band. ( I know what people are saying but if you listen to the music they are talking about God and even say Christ).
Not all bands who mention Christ is a Christian band..my sis was watching MTV and when asked to comment on being referred as a Christian band Evanesence said that they're not a Christian band..they're just another gothic alternative band trying 2 be different from the rest..

P.O.D. has some good stuff I only really listen to their singles though, Evanescence has a good song or too on the Christian charts... (They seem rather pissed by that too! whatever they suck as human beings I guess but some of their music is okay! I take that back... but how obtuse of them? Enjoy the extra record sales! sheesh. You make the music your fans decide how to classify you... ie good or bad, Rap or Christian Rock!...), Is Lifehouse Christian rock? I've heard Bono claim U2 as a Christian band... they could fill just about every genre though... true the lyrics are very Christian though...

Yeah i agree with ya..i have both The Fundamental Elements Of Southtown and Satellite and i only enjoy their singles..the radio stations here play em too many times though till i got sick of most of em..lol Evenesence again..they're Gothic and well i wouldn't classify as Christian (they're gonna like me then :p) Lifehouse dead yeah they are..the vocalist (Jason Wade is it?) is the son of an Aussie pastor..U2 they can say whatever they want to cuz i ain't in much favor of their stuff anyway..
there's this band Pillar,i have their CD..it's kinda Rap-Metal..very similar to POD but their guitar's heavier..i saw this CD, X 2003 a compilation of Christian rock and alternative bands when i was looking for Blindside's CD online (I couldn't find it in this country!!) wanted to get it but i had already confirmed my order so i couldn't add anymore..there's an X 2004 as well which features Kutless, Switchfoot, Audio Adrenaline just to name a few..i think this's a good way to experiment rock bands b4 buying their cd and also for ppl who get sick of listening to the same voice over and over again ;)

King's X used to be considered a "Christian Rock" band, but since Doug Pinnick (singer) admitedly lost his faith, I don't think they fit in that category anymore.
Still, they are one of the best american rock group out there!!!

Yup, although some groups like U2 admit to being a Chr_stian rock band I wouldn't necessarily consider them to be a Chr_stian band although, it's obvious if you listen to much of their lyrics... same with Smashing Pumpkins... the members are Chr_stian and Billy is rather outspoken about his Chr_stianity... but... I like Jars of Clay they are one of the better songsmiths out there... then there's Creed they are rather heavy, POD certainly, I've recently grown to like Todd Agnew... his Grace Like Rain cd isn't bad... some very hard stuff on there as well as lighter poppy stuff, Switchfoot, Kutless, Audio Adrenaline, Newsboys, Seven Places, Silers Bald, Sixpence None the Richer (more poppy), Third Day... they have some nice stuff rather melodic, 12 ?Stones, Demon Hunter, Pax 217, Wrench, 1,000 Foot Krutch, Pillar, Petra, Normandy, Ancient of Days, Barlow Girl, Road to Revelation, Chozen, Jonah 33... there's quite a bit of stuff out there... and the Chr_stian bands certainly are getting better these past few years.

I love Christian Music. It's great to see God shine through music. The best CD's to get (in no particular order) Pillar - Where Do We Go Frome Here, Pillar - Fireproof, Kutless - Sea Of Faces, Falling Up - Crashings, All of Jeremy Camp - especially Stay, 12 Stones - Potter's Field, 38th Parallel - Turn The Tides, Jonah33 - Jonah33, Seventh Day Slumber - Picking Up The Pieces

supertones? switchfoot? delirious? :confused2 - pop bands, not rock...i saw two bands on this whole entire thread that are actually rock bands...no three...blindside, p.o.d., and chevelle. now i know what you're thinkin, of course he would say those three - those are three that have made it big in mainstream music. your right, but check out these who havent made it mainstream YET, but rock just as hard if not harder.
emo/screamo - dead poetic, emery, underoath, thrice
hard rock - pillar, staple, kids in the way
hardcore - norma jean, demon hunter, zao
matter of fact, check out www.toothandnail.com for a whole list of incredible christian rock bands, and their heavier side, www.solidstaterecords.com
dont know how heavy you are looking for, but this is rock!!

There are quite a few Chritian Rock bands. I really don't like the kind of format they play on most of the Christian Stations.
If you want something awesome and different give Earthsuit a listen. Very cool band that mixes heavy rock, Rap and Fusion with great vocals. The band is now defunct, but their album is still easy to find online. The band split into two other bands and both of them are also very good: Mutemath and Macrosick, they both have EPs and are working on albums.
For good solid pop-rock stuff try Better Days Ahead (BDA).

I kept hearing songs on the radio that I really liked. Well, all the songs turned out to be Jeremy Camp songs. I went out and bought the only CD I could find of his at the time - his latest, Restored. I loved it so much that I went out and bought his other two. I'm so addicted! Other than that, I typically listen to more adult contemporary/pop Christain music vs. Christian rock.

Honestly, I find it hard to choose a favorite. His CD's are some of the few that I can listen to all the way through without skipping songs. His popular songs (as per radio play) are "Take You Back", "Lay Down My Pride" (Restored CD), "Walk By Faith", "I Still Believe", "Breaking My Fall" (Stay CD) and "Worthy of My Praise" (Carried Me CD). I may have missed one. I like all of these songs, but there are many others that are great as well.
Hope this was helpful.
Happy sampling.

I know not many people would class U2 as a Christian band but U should really listen to their music before U say that their not, (e.g Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own), and my favourite Christian Rock bands would have to be Skillet, Flyleaf, Lifehouse and Switchfoot.
