Right now I am playing bass in a band, but started my long career as a six stringer.I also play drums, harmonica and I do all the sequencing for my group.I made the leap to 5 string bass because we could never find a decent bassist. I hack around on the axe. I currantly am involved in a
duet act called "just du-et". A project in the making three
years ago with the intent on playing smaller venues.
(i.e. pubs) All songs have been redone acoustically for that unplugged ambience.
There is a big market for smaller venues who want live
entertainment but can not host a full band. With full
midi backing...drums are too easy to control...and more
"scratch" for us two members..

Yeah I'm guitar and have been for years.

I have only recently got into using midi files for my backing. I play solo in pubs in UK. I used to sit down and program all my own backing which I loved doing but it takes forever. Then I discovered the Intrernet and midi. Jesus, all those years programming backing trax and it's all out there, almost all ready to use.

Hi all. I have been playing guitar for quite a few years. I am currently playing in a disco/funk dance band called "The Hugh Jass Shaker Band" I have recently purchased a Fender "Cyber Twin" amp which has midi in and out... except I'm a Mididiot and dont know how to use it yet!!!!! hehe. Also my band is looking to invest in either a Triton keyboard or a Roland Sequencer (or something similar) to play the back ground horns and fill sounds... Does anybody have any experience or advise???

Yep.. I play guitar.. Classical, Flamenco, Jazz.. Recently bought myself a 7 string Jazz guitar..which is a bit of a pain to play, since you cannot look at the strings..

i play with a classical guitar. a yamaha cg-105e series. i play in a duet but havent tried using midi as backup. we're more a guitar-voice duet. something like "Tuck and Patti." love to experiment on jazz and bebop. but my roots are blues and rock. any one heard of the band Cry of Love? one heluva band!!!!! think, Black Crowes but heavier.

used to do lounge acts here in the Philippines in some hotels. played usually either standards or classical.

I joined today and yup, I'm a guitarist too - I recently bought a guitar synth - Roland GR33 - it is a hit at jamming sessions! I love playing drums on it - really weird!

The funniest request I ever had as a player was when I was asked to play to a bunch of teenage school boys in a guitar group (from Syndey - biggish place) because they'd never seen a female play an electric guitar before!
