Has anybody used the RODE NT2 Mic?

What do you think of it?

I was thinking of getting one at one point, but I didn't have the cash. From what I've read it's a good large diaphram condensor, that looks like a tube. I couldn't tell you what it sounds like since I haven't used it myself.

I have a Rode NTK and that's an amazing microphone. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Heck I sometimes use it over the Neumann U87!

I have used the Rode NT1 as well, I haven't used the NT2... I didn't really like the NT1, but I love the NTK, overall the Rode's are pretty decent.

I didn't like Nt1 but Nt2 probably fixed the problems I had with the nt1.

A friend of mine has the Nt2 and he likes it. But heh I haven't used it myself.

I have used the NT3 and found it worked well. If you have microphone modeling software (such as ANTARES) it can be tweaked to sound even better. Great signal to noise and can be used over lots of applications (safe to 140dB).

Cheers

With the 19ml diapghram the pick up pattern I find is one of the best true condesors on the market and at a great price. I will still use the rode nt2 over the neuman that we have...serious

I've used the nt1, great mike. The nt2 apparently has a switch to go between uni and.... the other one. I've done an album with nt1, will be using nt2 for the next one

The NT2 is a great, very natural sounding mic. If you run the signal through a tube compressor it sounds as good as some of the top end tube condensor mics for a lot less price. RODE are very good at providing back-up service as well.

I have an NT2, i think they are mainly used for voice. Extremely sensitive and crystal clear :D

It depends, what are you going to use it for??

For Vocals I would reccomend a shure sm-58

I would recomend any of the rhode mics especialy for vocals. I am currently doing a degree in music production and have had the pleasure of using the nt1 and will be getting one shortly for my own studio. Forget the sm58 for recording (ok for live though) not a patch on the rhode mics for recording vocals but still they are a good alrounder and it will depend on the type of sound your after
