I hate Ricers!!

I'm really starting to hate ricers!! :cough: HONDA's :cough: The owners of these things have to be the most obnoxious people on earth! Now, it's perfectly fine with me if they've moded their engine, but when they put neon under the car to get more ponies, then that is rediculous.

Some of the cars are really nice, but the hondas always crack me up. Expecially with the 'weed wacker' effect.

Check out www.****onhonda.com too. It's got some nice ricer bashing stuff there. Some of it I don't quite get, as it seems they're completely anti-Honda. A lot of people give Honda owners a bad name. Like the ones you mention, the idiots with neon lights on their cars. Neon lights have no place on a car unless it's a show car. How about the massive amount of people who suddenly want NOS on their car since Fast and the Furious came out? I own a 1997 Honda Accord, and I've done a little bit to the engine...Cold Air Intake, Accel plug wires, and exhaust. Nothing major, but at least it's something. It costs a lot of money to pay for engine mods.

I think that the ability to enhance cars with these engine boosts are bad news. I mean, most of the people that are interest in doing this or have done this are teenagers that don't have much experience driving. This increases the chances of fatal accidents dramatically. I believe there should be a ban on these enhancements until a certain age where a person has been driving long enough to drive responsibly and safely without endangering their lives and the lives of others.

Personally, I think that the term "rice" is now overused way too much. I'm not saying that your interpretation of the word is used incorrectly in anyway, its just that I've noticed now, that whenever someone sees an import car that doesnt meet their "definition" of a nice car, it is automatically labelled as "rice." Yea, coffee can exhausts and huge stickers may not be your thing but obviously it pleases someone. I think everyone is entitled the right to do whatever they want with their things and not have to worry about anyone criticizing or judging it. Sorry, if Im taking this subject too far but I guess after being into cars, especially imports for a long time you just notice little things like this. Well, I'll stop wasting your time and leave it at that.

No offense toward hondas, but my 1989 Chrysler LeBaron has never lost a race to any "ricer". Its basically stock and pushes out 180 real hp. Unlike some hondas that push 130 hp but only 80lb of tourque. Ill that ive had done is i increased the turbo boost to 15psi (which was dumb, bye bye head gasket). I dont mind imports at all, im just tired of kids buyin a stock honda civic dx and they think they have a f-in nascar or somthin. Evertime i hit a stoplight some little 16 yr old tries to race me, its getting anoying.

that happens all over the place but the thing that is similar is that in come places people in domestics do that, it all depends on the area
imports are starting to become kinda like the hot rods of yesteryear, cheap and tuneable

They're modern hot rods. 30 or 40 years ago people were doing the same thing to camaros and mustangs (they still do them now), but back then the cars never hit speeds as high as some of these civics do now.

Nonetheless, I think some of the ricers are silly. I don't like them doing 90 in traffic weaving through cars.

I own a ****ONHONDA shirt and i love to wear it, although just to be honest there are some nice honda's/acura's out there. The problem is when they go all out on APC parts and neons, then i say OMG RRrrrrICE.
I also think that JDM honda's are very nice and clean looking.

I understand this statement but I disagree, at the age of 16 I had been driving and drag racing for 4 years and knew my limits and responsibilities on the road. I would love to see a licensing system based on actual driving ability, and this license would permit you to only own vehicles that fall in that designation, and the yearly inspection would check for modifications that would bring the performance up to or past your limit. A crazy idea that I know would never work, but I like it.

As for ricers, it's not my thing, but i dont care if someone wants to spend all their money on stickers and junk, I just don't like it when they brag about being fast b/c of the junk. I've seen some seriously fast imports and have respect for them, but unforunately the majority gives the sport a bad name.

Please note a few of those so called shopping car wings put downforce onto a car and with light cars like civics they proably are nessary if you reach anything voer 150 mph. It's scary when those things begin to float.

u want to know whats funny i own the same car in the pic same color too and guess.... what im a (ricer) and i love racing 90+ is when my car feels good u should try autocrossing (touring) wait no one really uses mustangs and corvettes for that .... maybe because they dont handle too well but i not hatting on stangs and vettes but i will make it to the next gas station and still give a can of whoop ass to the next one too!

P.S. give me a Nissan Skyline gtr V spec (ultimate ricer not readilly availabe in the US) with nothing but a chip and exaust and ill take anything with a V8 in it heck even a V10 ! DO the math!:boink:

why does everyone generalize about hondas? in south florida where i live we have plenty of fast hondas. more than i can remember making over 400 whp in 2000 lbs shells, a few in the 500's and some in the 600's. street driven cars also not just race cars. other street driven hondas around the country making up to 800 whp out of little 2.0 liter motors, with trap speeds over 150 mph. jason hunt had a 9 sec street honda, and there are more 10 second hondas than i can ever hope to remember. every manufacturer has owners that are "ricers" hondas are just noticed more often because there are more of them on the street but the ratio on performance:rice is probably better in the honda world than other import manufacturers. i drive a VW, but i build hondas for a living, and none of them are rice.

Why are people hating?

If you really love cars you should accept them, foreign or domestic.

Car makers cater to specific markets - they ask them selves "which age group can afford and will actually buy our cars?" That's why you don't see neon lights and turbos stock on cars.

Same thing with engines: Everyone is like, they should put a bigger engine inside so it can go faster. Well if 80% of your market is aged 30-40 and have families they're not gonna need (and most likely) can't afford that turbo/bigger engine.

That's why there are so many aftermarket products for those that want to individualize their rides.

As far as rice rockets vs. domestic goes...hey, its all about displacement. When all cars come off the production line stock the car with the biggest engine USUALLY will be the faster one.

Rice rockets can be annoying because I think we all associate them with those gaudy neon lighted badly painted cars. A small domestic car like a neon or a cavalier can be just as annoying.
