Swish is great.
Macromedia Flash can take a long time to learn, but Swish is reeeeeally simple.

You are better sticking to Flash 5
Most of the better flash intros are coded swish does not allow for any kind of scripting
The latest version from Macromedia is FlashMx the only real feature over Flash 5 from a beginners PoV is the facility to embed streaming Video

generally speaking, websites that use alot of flash are VERY slow (yes, yes, I know! I have dial-up V.92) so be carefull you don't go over-board. I have a nice simple website. http://rulestheweb.com/thepictures (you don't need 2 type "www." to get to my page!)

Must agree with flea, flash can make a website slow, so think and plan well. I am not all against flash, but too many sites out there are trying to look pretty, but really has nothing else to offer. So make sure your use of flash compliments your site and not just complicates it
