I'm using a Yamaha PSR-740..

I've got two of them actually. I'm ambidextrous. lol

I've got a old Kawai keyboard also... It was good when I bought it, but now???

Actually, I'm about as skilful on the music keyboard as chimpanzee, but give me a pc keyboard and no problem...

I've been using a Korg X3 for several years now and it works well, but it's very limited in memory. I can load about 5 to 6 songs, depending how complete they are. That's why I now use Cakewalk as the sequencer and the Korg as the sound module.

Wow, your Ambidextrous...I would give my right arm to be ambidextrous...Ha....Seems like a lot of people are using Yamaha.
I've never tried one myself...Maybe I should..

I use cubase vst for sequencing, only because I'm used to it, but logic is getting a really good rap for midi, i use it for recording audio

Cakewalk Pro is the only way to go for me... luckily it's also compatible with Cool Edit Pro when i'm using audio tracks as well

I make the sequence using Cakewalk on PC, then save it to floppy for use on my Roland Soundbrush. The soundbrush is great because it acts just like a CD player. I use cakewalk because it's just what i've always used. Cubase was too finicky.

I'm using Cakewalk V9.

I tried other software but found cakewalk the easiest to use.

Having said that, I tried using the CAL programming language to do some MIDI editting and had a lot of problems. One problem was that I had some MIDI files with gaps of 4 or 5 measures at the start. No need for that, so I wrote a CAL program to subtract a few measures from all the times. Sometimes it works and sometimes, it changes all the time events for the first half of the song, then leaves the remainder alone, which effectively adds a gap to the middle of the song. Weird!!!

Anyway, other than that, Cakewalk is good.

I have a Trinity as well. It is okay, especially if you just want to lug one piece. Very limited editing, especially when it comes to tweaking velocity. Thankfully, it has a comprehensive event editor.

My gigging set up is two Roland MC50s. (Load one while the other plays)

I like Cakewalk products, but i find i'm so accustomed to the MC50 interface that i will usually choose it for creating sequences

For software sequencing, I use Cakewalk. It's very powerful and easy to use. I've been using cakewalk for 5 years now (since v4.5).

I use a yamaha psr-2000 but i don't like the sequencer on this keyboard. I prefer to use cakewalk pro 9. I had a roland mc-50 before and it's better than the one in the psr-2000.

I use sonar for sequencing my midi files but use sound fonts to make the sound better. Some sound fonts are midi compatible so if you have the right sound car and software you can replace that awfull midi sound with real like sampled sounds. It makes the drums sound awaesome!:p

I use Logic Audio Platinum v5.2 for full-on sequencing. Fruity Loops for Drum Loop architecture, Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 for scoring (Cakewalk still has the best midi features), Nuendo for film-scoring/surround editing, and on occasion I do mixes with ACID:assskake: :boink:

Oh, I also use a Korg Triton when i'm at the studio, it's alright, but not my thing. I prefer sequencing and editing with software, and sound and architecture with hardware.

for making MIDI sequences I use Cakewalk 9 and my mouse. I convert the MIDI to WAV using Audio Compositor and Soundfonts. For live playback I mixdown the WAV's and convert to mp3s @ 160kb/sec and use a CD - MP3 player for playback, can fit about 120 songs per disk. Eventually i want to use the computer at gigs so I can execute Guitar FX patch changes and vocal FX parameter/patch changes.

I use Cubase VST with Roland JV880 and EMU Classic Keys modules. The Piano is excellent on the Roland and the Hammond B3 is great on the EMU. Also use SampleTank for the really excellent samples.
