Hey!, why do people like having a wack at Microsoft. Do people really see Microsoft in such a bad light?

After all, I bet 99% of the members are using Microsoft op.sys. AND WHY??? Because they are good.

Anyway, I have to admire old Billy Boy Gates..... wish I had just 0.1% of his talent (and money, of course).

Like the theme... by the way... thanks

of course, if something is very successful it tends to be criticized very much....take britney spears for example....or the american government.

But microsoft didn't actually construct windows from scratch he stole ideas from other places. His ability to play on someones weakness to get what he wants and build and empire out of it is what i admire

"Emperor Bill" :D

He's a brilliant businessman - but he looked like a real puss when he got smacked in the face with that pie.
And the Anti-Trust suit too, come to think of it...

And what about his (and his family's) work for charity..

Does anyone think that he or his family should get any credit there?, or do we just say.... yeah, big deal, he's so rich, he can afford it?... just a PR effort, or does he really have a good heart?

:)

i suppose we do knock old bill around a bit.........and i suppose no OS is perfect..............and i suppose i can't comment on charity work i've never heard about...............but then again life isn't perfect is it??

Well, I didn't know anything about Billys charity work until I read Newsweek magazine Febuary, 2002. I was quite surprised.

To summarize:
Bill and his wife, Melinda set up a foundation of 24 billion US$ and appointed Bills father as CEO ('cos Bill was been quite busy). The foundations mission is to promote health care in developing countries. Its the biggest in the world and is twice the size of the next largest foundation.

"The Gates Foundation often makes grants only on condition that governments or other nonprofits match them, and requires that recipients meet regular goals for performance - or risk losing their funding. (That hardball approach has met with criticism from some members of the philanthropic community, who argue that holding people to ambitious standards may make sense in Redmond but not in places where millions can't read)."

Seems he kicks ass in his charity works as well as with Microsoft.

And then he gets linked with the Devil and gets called the next anti-christ... poor guy!.

Or is it just a fiendishly clever plot?

What makes me laugh is the fact that bill gates uses a mac! seems hes got a lot of faith in his own system. Realy this is true saw a documentry on him once where he admmited it. he is now trying to come up with a mac operating system to use with pentium type processors.

cant wait I will definatly stop using windows if it happens its just not got the speed or power of a mac. By the way im using a packard bell 1.9 gig with 768 ram just so i can use lots of music programs at the same time.
