Check the FAQ. I have two different programs listed along with a program that is made to make midi's into ringtone files.

My program, Powertracks Pro Audio 4 (I know, I need to get with the times...;) ) lets me convert MIDI to wav, but I don't know any more types, so, sorry.

You could import the tracks into something like fruity loops and then if you can choose different instruments for you midi sounds.

yes you can convert MIDI to WAV and vice versa. I used to do it back in the day with Windows Media Player (when I was running Windows 3.1). I have some software that converts that, but I haven't used it in a very long time. You may want to check download.com.

Or, for the lazier individual... Start the MIDI playing, then hit "record" in sound recorder. Done! :D

Get one of the Timidity programs. They convert from MIDI to WAV and replace the sounds with better ones. It's great if you have a MIDI with electric guitar in it, becuase now it'll actually sound like electric guitar.
Linux versions are the easiest to find, but there are also a few on the net for Windows. They're free. I use one called Timidity-GUI because it's the easiest to use. There are a few files you have to download for these to work, though, and I'm not sure what they are because someone else installed them for me. Just search for "timidity" and read the guide on whatever site you find.

I personally use the Winamp MIDI plugin v2 to export MIDI to WAV. I do not mind a listen-through of a song as it exports real-time. Otherwise, why would I bother exporting it to WAV?

Check this (http://www.midi2wav.com) out. I'm sure there are free versions of the same type of program, just google "midi to wav".

Here is a shareware, that can do it. Export to: printer, eps, epsf, pct bmp wmf, emf, mux, mu3, abc, tab, cmf, brt , wav, mp3, ogg, kar, aiff.
Imports from: mod, ogg, it, 3 forms of midi, kar, band in the box, s3m. Adobe etc.
It is virtually unheard of, maybe because they have their own message board, they don't advertise, it’s not on the racks at stores. What they do is keep programming new stuff into it and have kept perfecting since 1994, if you bought it back then you would not have an old program as it updates free. Example, made to work with the ogg format just a few months ago.

It is really designed to be for composing music but I also play midi and kar in it as it has a better sound base than my soundcard has. Pretty much, why I am here is to understand sequencing as others have done, to see if I can learn to write better music and get similar results in the Myriad software. www.myriad-online.com/enindex.htm Which is the only software I may need as I'm frugal, and shrewd at shopping due to tight budget.

Don't forget the old favourite, Winamp. Just go to preferences and select the microsoft midi mapper in the midi input setup, and select disk streaming in the output preferences, and you're away :)
