Hi,
need help with downloading midi's. When i do so only some of them play on my keyboard. My keyboard is SMF 0 format yet some of the files say they are not in this format. How do i download a file in this format so they work??

If I remember correctly, in SMF 0 format all the channels (instruments) are combined into one track in the midi file. You would have to convert files that have multiple tracks into one.

Seems like using sequencer software, like cakewalk....
opening the midi and using 'Save As...' and selecting MIDI format 0, might be a good place to start.

go to google and type a search for 'miditype' and u should eventually get a program that does it with no hassle. i use it and its ery good. the icon is a few piano keys. just keep looking and u will get it eventually. ;)

I have a free format convertor, converts from format 0 to format 1 and back. It's a tool from Korg.
You can download it on http://www.mididesign.be/software.asp
Download the SMF format convertor (only 5.3k).
Kind regards,
Alain
