Hi,
If you've used a variety of different versions of CloneCD, or have removed it permenently from your system, you might not know that a bunch of registry keys have probably been left behind.
You can use these attached applications to remove all the CloneCD registry keys and give you a fresh start, or be completely done with CloneCD forever.
**Remember to keep a copy of your registration code(s) in case you use this, it will remove the registration code registry keys too.
This is a useful tool if you have been using CloneCD with a code/serial you don't own (i.e. pirated software).
There are 2 versions:
C3CU_v2b will remove everything for CloneCD version 3xx
C4CU_v1 will remove everything for CloneCD v4xx
Here is version 4 first!

I had to break this in 2, because it was a little too big...
Here is the main zip file

You will need to unzip this one before trying to unzip the entire archive. This will (or should...) unzip into a file named C3CU_v2b.zip.z01
Unzip this file first, then unzip the entire archive ;)

Hey, Artisan... how do I switch on HTML code and use those cute smilies?

Um...
I meant privated software...
:D or not...
The smileys can be added 2 ways...
1. For a whole list of available smileys - hit the post reply button on a thread (instead of quick posting)
Right next to the window you type your reply in, there is a small window with some smilies in it... Click "get more" to see all of them (**Note: if you're running a pop-up window stopping program, it may prevent the pop-up from popping up - disable it)
Then click on the smiley you want added - it will be added after the last character space of the reply. I click on the smiling guy with the thumb up
 is what I get.
2. You can do the same thing in the quick-post window too, but you type the VB code for what you want ;and) will give you ;)
(colon)thumbsup(colon) is
Once you know the code for your favorite smilies, you can type the code instead... :and) = :) (colon)rolleyes(colon) is
You can check to see if smilies are enabled or disabled by Clicking Post Reply, and looking at the Forum Rules: (looks like this)

Ah.... 'privated' software. Ah, thats OK then... I use a lot of that myself.
Thanks for the smiley info. I think I got it set up right.... Maybe... Hope!... Mmmm!.
Weird!. I clicked the smiley to get the line above and it said '', ie gave me the text and not the smiley graphic. I hope that is normal, ie is displays as a graphic, on the board. Maybe I'm expecting too much from the softrware authors of this web site.

Yup - it's displaying the vb code -
If you type in what you saw printed when you clicked that smilie, you get the same result!

Oh - one last note on this Clone Registry Cleaner.
Obviously, any time you are messing around with your registry - you want to make sure you take the necessary precautions and back up your registry. Better to be safe than sorry.

and can i register clonecd after removing it ?
theARTiSAN
10-11-2002, 07:13 AM
Yes - you can reinstall and register it as you normally would.
This tool is useful when you have installed several various versions, or uninstalled it completely. It will remove all the left-over registry keys.
p.s. Bald Jack - do not junk post.

Anyone had Clone CD just lose the registration code and not accept it again? For some reason, Mine went unregistered, and when I put the code back in, it says the code is invalid.

You're probably trying to use a blacklisted serial#...
I am using a key I ordered from elby.org and get the same message after reinstalling!! Can you help me
theARTiSAN

You're probably using a blacklisted key too...
PM or Email me the info and I'll see if I can help.
Do not post serial numbers here guys...
Read the post right above yours and follow those instructions.

you can sometimes put an older version on first with your aquiredz# key then install an up to date version, the program will uninstall the old program install the new one and treat as registered and just updated.
theARTiSAN
10-17-2002, 03:57 PM
Yup...
There is a k%yg%n out that allows you to generate your own keys based on different user name... I've used my key forever, on ton of different versions and it's always been perfect. Certainly better than using a key that could be blacklisted at any time.

Hi theartisan,
Is there any other software as good as CloneCD?
theARTiSAN
10-26-2002, 12:33 AM
For exact copies?
I use Clone and Blindwrite Suite almost every time.
Blindwrite is a great (if not somewhat underrated) tool that makes great copies or ISO images - it' can handle copy protected Cds really well.
http://www.blindwrite.com/
I'll use Nero occasionally too - just to break the routine, on easy jobs, but I'll use Blindwrite and Clone most often.
Off subject a little bit, there is a proggy that was made to work with CloneCD called Copy Protection Detection which will automatically discover copy protections being used, and will open and trasfer correct settings to Clone with a mouse-click.
Get it here:

is this legal?
theARTiSAN
10-27-2002, 12:13 AM
Of course -
All it does is ensure that there aren't any registry keys left after you uninstall CloneCD 3xx or 4xx - Or if you upgrade from v3 to 4, it removes all traces of 3.
Nothing illegal about that.
Not if you're using a fixed copy of CloneCD or serials you didn't buy - THAT'S illegal. Not this removal tool.

How can I get that registery cleaner program? I can't download it!
FootSeeker

And I need it really hard! My whole CloneCD doesn't work anymore! ALL serials I enter are invalid, even the serial that I brought!
theARTiSAN
10-29-2002, 03:01 AM
After you have posted 5 topics - you'll be able to download it.
What version are you running?
You'll want to uninstall clone entirely - run the (appropriate version of the) registry cleaner and try to reinstall - using only the purchased, legal serial number...
If you've been sharing that serial with anyone else, and it's gotten around - it could have been blacklisted.
BTW - when I was asking for serials earlier, it is not because I need them. I've got a licensed copy already.
It's good software guys - great support, free updates for a fair price. Buy it if you like it.

Is CloneCD the best burning software to get around these protections? I make copies of my software I buy and I kills me that they prevent me from doing it.

I am looking at buying this program, but their issue list shows my drive name CRX160E as having a problem with subchannel data because of the fast error skip enabling when using this option. However, it is able to read other disks that don't require subchannel reading. Has this been a long standing issue with the subchannel reading option and the fast error skip for these drives or just a recent one? Just curious since I would like to see how good of a chance I would have of them fixing it if I bought it. Thanks.
