Be sure to post which version you use, what you use them for and why you like 'em so much

I use several of the above - CDRWin for CD+G CDs, BlindWrite for just about anything, Nero for Audio CDs and just about anything and CloneCD for other 1:1 jobs.
Nero Burning Rom 5.5.6.4 (most stable IMHO)
CloneCD 4.0.1.9
CDRWin 5.01.012
Blindwrite 1.2.5
How 'bout you?

Easy CD Creator 5 platnium = audio cds, and files. Great for crossfading songs but if each song is crossfaded into the other too much the end of the song will be heard over the begining of the first track.
Fantom CD, donno what version it is, but it creates a virtual dvd drive. I use it to back up my website, it is then saved as a cd image on your hard drive, I would create a folder in the image for each substantial update and put everything in it. I think i read from a source on the web saying that cd images don't get infected with viruses.
CDRW do an ok job on back ups but are painfully slow when it comes to rewriting files, and defragmenting a cdrw isn't fun. Plus CDR data life last almost 4 times as longer than cdrws.

King, you are right in 1 respect. Yes it is made by Roxio, BUT it is nto "direct CD" so-to-speak. it is desigend like easy CD creator. Direct CD allwos you to read/write CD/RW discs like a floppy disk (I.E through microsoft word) where as this one doesn't. this one also allowes you to read CDS in Non-CDR drives or in some older computers who don't have multi-read CD-ROMS. aire go, it is not a "direct CD" application. as "direct CD" is desigend to be read, written and re-written in that particualr drive. you are lucky if you can read it in another computer.

on a side note, does anyone know if Nero (since that seems to be the current leader) can do batch burns? Like, say I have 3 different CD's saved... so 3 *.nri files... can Nero be given a "playlist" so it burns CD 1 from 1.nri, then spits out the CD and I put another in and it automatically starts up burning the next file 2.nri etc...?
It would just be more helpful than opening the next nri file and saying "burn" between discs...

I just purchased NTI Cd Maker Pro. Very good program. I couldn't get Easy CD Creater to work at all. That program is nice but it's always been very screwy.

I'd recommend Nero myself. It works well when your hardrive is fragmented to buggery. If you use Windows NT, 2000 or XP, try and have your partiton you copy or burn from, formatted with NTFS (not FAT/32 like Win95/98/ME). It doesn't fragment anywhere as much. If you use Win 95/98/ME, give yourself plenty of disk space and defrag often.;)

Nero burning ... is the one !!!
Nero has got to be one of the best, one nice thing it can do that not a lot of people know is allow you to add extra data to a cd at a later date but only when you do a data disk and select mutisession, its great.

Blindwrite suite rips a good ISO - or WinISO.
Nero does alright burning ISO lifes, but rips to NRG files, which several other burning proggys can read/burn.

Nero has always worked well for me. ISO's or direct copying it does everything well.
I use to use Easy CD Creator but then I found Nero.

I used to like Adaptec/Roxio Easy CD Creator, but now I use Ahead Nero Burning ROM v6.0.0.19 for burning data CDs, audio CDs, mix mode CDs, ISOs and simple VCD/SVCDs. Sometimes I'll use CDRWin or Alcohol 120% for... other purposes.

Great poll Art ,,
I tried using the Xp burner after buying a new 'puter thinking why do i need extra software when I have the built in package, so after 3 failed attempts that ruined my brand new disks I stopped trying , thinking I'd get around to it later,
I talked to a tech who said my problem was that I was using black cdr's and xp won't write to them ..
........ so why do they sell the $&%^*%^* things then .......
answer ........ because they are cheaper !
' but they don't work?
.... and your point is ????
so thanks for this opportunity to vent .
I'll be checking out the alternative to Roxio Ez CD Destroyer since I have about 80 gigs of guitar video mpg's now
............... or is it time for a dvd burner ???

Best hands down Alcohol 120%
Nero
Prassi Primo Dvd
Once you use alcohol you have no need for clone cd/discjuggler/cdrwin since it burns all those formats and more

Nero 5.5 on Win 98 works superb as Easy CD Destroyer is not good. Will give Clone Cd a go sometime as I have heard it is very good.

Replace the original regkey with a universal. I had to when I upgraded my drive. ;)
Nero 6.0.0.23 Ultra here. Easy to use and powerful to boot.

It's all about Alchol 120% for burning disc images; for music Nero has the most features, and Windows Media player is the most convienient

I use Nero for all I do but just started trying Alcohol 120% for disc images.
I find Nero great thogh. Haven't had any problems other than 1 bad burn of a Red Hat cd.
That is not something I can complain about considering the amount of cd's I burn.
Anybody know where I can get a working version of Nero 6 ultra?
