Is there any way to convert a midi file to a wav file?

Yes, this is fairly simple to do...all you need is an .wav recorder on your computer, you simply just play the MIDI file, while recording, and that's it!

yup
a simple 'volume recorder'
that comes with windows will do the job.

many different ways, depends on your setup. There are proggys that will do it. I have a logic audio setup, i loop the spdif input and output and record the midifile direct to wavefile in the program I am using at the time.(not as hard as it sounds)

Wouldn't you lose sound quality?

spdif. is digital...so he only noise(if any \) is the links between the ADC's and DAC's

so in reality..you would have to bounce somthing like 1000 times with a boost in signal to get noise...the joys of working in the digital domain.

Direct conversion from MIDI to WAV with your sound card will render WAV files exactly like you hear them when they play. If you are looking for better quality renderings of your MIDI, you might want to check out the thread that talks about converting MIDI to MP3 (basically the same thing you are wanting, just dont' do the step where you convert the WAV to MP3)

There are several helpful suggestions in that thread:
