Newsgroups!!

I'm proud to announce this new feature on the boards! There are now forums that have a direct interface with newsgroups. They are maked with 'newsgroup' in the title.

I encourage everyone to post in these forums. Even though the people are not members of these forums, they will still see your message and may become a part of our community because of this.

If you have any suggestions on any newsgroups to add please let me know.

ok how about a newsgroup for musicians using midi as backing tracks (good for new potential customers for hittrax)

well, the midi newsgroups are pretty general. There is a karaoke newsgroup, but it doesn't like me very much.

Is there any way to make new posts from these newsgroups NOT show up when you search for new messages? It's rather cumbersome when you are looking for new midis, and need to surf through—right now—490 new postings. Or, can you create a way to sort new messages by board that they are in? PLEASE!

I think that's a terrific suggestion penny.... In the meantime - If you start on http://board.midibuddy.net you can see each of the forums listed and a flashing icon next to those that are new since you visited last. By entering each forum individually (I abuse the right-click/open-in-new-window feature) you can avoid the messy stuffand stick to the forums you enjoy :)

Actually there's a search box at the bottom of each forum. If you click on a particular group of forums that you want to search in you can search only those forums.

the karaoke newsgroup just doesn't want to load. Don't know why.. the same with the motorola phone newsgroup.
