Here it is guys...
I've said before that the Request Forum is getting nuts.
I'm starting a 1-week contest starting right now, running until this time Monday Sept. 16th.
The member that fills the most requests within this week will win 1000$ MB cash.
Rules of common sense apply - Fill a request with the best MIDI version you have available. You can fill a request with a MIDI you have, you can find MIDIs on the internet or sequence them yourself.
1. Threads requesting MIDIs that are already on the board will be deleted - so don't waste your time responding with an attachment OR a link to the files. They won't count anyway.
2. Post only MIDI files. No links.
3. to have these count (making my job easier in counting all these next week) Include the words "replycontest1" (all lowercase, no quotes) in the thread response you upload the MIDI in. This way, I can run a search for eligable entries instead of looking through 5,000,000,000,000 threads.
IF YOU DON'T INLCUDE THIS CODE IN YOUR REPLY, IT WON'T COUNT!
4. First reply to a request gets the point.
5. Anyone can play.
Mods (and John) who choose to play cannot use any extended vB Mod or Admin options/scripts/features to gain unfair advantage. ;)
Good luck! PM me with questions, or post them here/
I'll announce a winner early next week!

:D Thanks guys!
:: ego inflates slightly ::
This does 2 things:
1. Helps fill requests
2. Helps satisfy a few posts that were complaining about how much stuff in the Feature Store costs - - The winner will be well on the way to a name glow or whatever else they can't afford now ;)

Remember guys - once the pickin's seem to be getting slim in the requests, you can go back further to some of the old requests.
There are like 1600 some-odd threads in the Request Forum, and some of the unfilled ones have remained unfilled for a long time!
So we have:
Dave
Tpearl5
Serena
Voice
Hana
Frogg
davph
and Me (who is playing for fun, not eligible for the $)
Anyone else?
p.s. As of right now, Dave is kicking the hell out of all of us...

Damn, I'm going away for the weekend(last days of the contest)
Oh well looks like glowdom is yours Dave.
Artisan, just wondring, can you post the results of the contest.
With each participant and no. of requests they filled.
I'm interested to see just how many we all filled in a week.

Voice - I sure will post the results - we're up to 40 as of right now.
Really good guys!
Dave - actually, from what I understand, the real MIDIGOD on the boards is EddieXP50... Fast Eddie has about 17,000 PRO midi files... :: turns pale & faints ::
I'm thinking of possibly extending this contest another week... This will make the final count a lot more time consuming for me, but I don't mind :D
What does everyone think - after all, 1000mb$ is a lotta wampum.

I have started a new ongoing thread called
"Anything for a (M)Buck."
http://degster.com/midi/board/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3874
This is now the place to stop off if you are needing a few extra MB cash dollaz in your pocket...
It is like the "Mission Impossible" thread... Any mission there (should you choose to accept it) could make you a little bit richer.
The first one is easy - so hurry up and check it out!

OK friends - here are the official results of the Reply Contest(1).
In accordance with the rules, posts that did not contain the (searchable) catch-phrase "replycontest1" DID NOT COUNT!
(Which was a shame, because there were a ton of people filling requests, but only a 5 of us playing by the contest rules.
The results were actually surprising... Unexpected...
But without further delay:
voice of god: 16
hana_dan: 13
lostdave: 11
theartisan: 7
davph30: 2
With as hard as everyone tried, I have decided to add a few consolation prizes...
Voice of God = 1000$
hana_dan = 500$
lostdave (who I really though was going to win...) = 250$
theartisan = just playing for fun... Get's nothing just like the lottery
davph30 = 50$
Great job guys!
We filled 50 requests all-told.
If your count differs from mine (and you did reply with "replycontest1" -spelled correctly-) let me know. I used our regular board search feature, came up with 52 results and checked them each, one-by-one... Then doublechecked by searching by each player's name...
:: shells out a LOT of cash ::
So ends the first contest... Remember to check in frequently with the "Anything For a (M)Buck! Thread http://degster.com/midi/board/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3874 for announcements of future contest... THere will just about always be something going on there...
 You Guys ROCKed!
