What does it mean to be a part of a crew?

This is my first posting, so I apologize in advance if this has been answered and I couldn't find it. I've noticed that many postings are signed off as part of a "crew" What does this mean?

The only unofficial 'crew' 'round here is the Name Glow crew.... but because so many of our members are creative and fun folks they've... errr... we've added some 'personalizations' to our Name Glow Crew signature lines....

To be in the name glow crew one must stick around, posts lots, make money and buy a glow from the feature store... then you too can be a member of a crew :)

Yes, as you'll see from Jeanie's sig, she is a member (the only 1 I think) of the Canine Lovers' Name Glow crew. And I'm a member of the Turnip Chasing Name Glow crew. Just a bit of an in joke between the 2 of us :p
