They are getting hard to find now aren't they?
I used to have a Geocities site, but they took FTP uploading away.
I want to know too - but I'll add a "no obnoxious pop-up ads" stipulation :D

Hey...
Whilst waiting for a reply, I found two sites which offer FTP upload and download. I'm especially interested in downloading.
http://www.batcave.net
and
http://www.exeat.com
Had problems using FTP with the latter, but the former was just fine.
Cheers anyway
Now to see if I can use them for some clever stuff.... he he he

Yeah!, looks like EXEAT has gone belly-up.
Anyone know anywhere else apart from batcave.net?
I think batcave is still OK... but I'd like a few alternatives.

Free dialup, free website and email....I think. If I'm wrong, I apologise profusely. Worth checking out though.

My experience with free hosting is that you usually get really really bad bandwidth from the server and very low spec servers
I take it your looking to offer ftp to the public from a web site? So they can upload and download via ftp?

In my experience you get what you pay for. Perhaps consider a cheap host such as www.34sp.com, who offer FTP, 30MB(?) of space plus PHP,MySQL and loads of other features for £15. They have been my host for 2 years now and I have had no trouble
