Here's a real techy question to test you all.
I'm a bit confused (I often am). I know that you can have Midi Files containing Lyrics and some Midi playing software will show you the lyrics (like vanBasco for example), and some keyboards will display the lyrics when playing the Midi (my Yamaha PSR-740 does... sometimes).
What I don't know is how it all hangs together. When I open a Midi file (with lyrics) with CakeWalk, sometimes the lyrics appear as 'Lyric' events; sometimes as 'text' events, and sometimes as markers.
What is the best to use when entering your own lyrics?. And is there and special sysex codes etc to enter to make sure they are used (e.g. on my keyboard).
Sometimes after editting with CakeWalk my lyrics are still there, but they don't show when I play the midi file.
Cheers
