Whether you use midi for backing tracks for practice or for live playing. Especially those of you in a duo or solo wanting quality backing tracks. There is a place you should go to swap files with others like you. It is called the midi hub. Anyone intersted? Just respond to this thread.

in new files & swapping

I'm in a Duo, and I'm always searching for new songs. I have a collection of 5000+ midi's to share. Plus hundreds of backing tracks.
So how do I get on The Hub?

hub membership is simple....
Just send me a PM saying that you are interested in joining the hub.
Criterea is fairly simple... Must be an active member of the board.
If you are connected to the net...be connected to the hub.
Not hard
for further information and links to the required software, check out the thread in Announcements "Midihub open for Business"

I'm a guitarist that uses MIDI quite a lot.
At present we haven't got a drummer, so we have in the past used MIDI drums with the odd bit of keyboard.
For recording it wouldn't really be practical to record live drums in my house, so MIDI drums will need to surfice until we can afford to record the drums in a proper studio.

I've been playing forever. just in the last 3 years have we added sequences now that there's no money for bands, although the owner just shelled out $30.000 for a smoking room. hypocrisy in action I'm a professional knitter now just weaving through the stiff rigid digital clicks trying to keep some blood flowing tastefully. I've been shunned by some, but hey I'm not milli Vannily yet! yukyukyuk

the band i'm currently in is splitting up at the end of the year, for various different reasons. The female singer and myself are planning on working together as a duo, so any help would be appreciated! Hub sounds good.... I have loads of MIDI files, but I don't sequence them myself! Does that count????

Doesn't matter if u dont sequence them from scratch.
Sometimes its a lot easier just to fix up existing midis.
To become a member of the hub, you have to be an active member on MidiBuddy. So stick around, looks like you could be hubward bound.

other than that, its a great idea!!!

midi tracks are great for live stuff, we have a drummer and pan the click to the left (the drummers in ear monitors) and all our extra muical and percusion stuffage to the right (the bit what goes out the front) works perfect every night

2 former members used to host the hub, but they stopped doing it coz of lack of interest(not enough ppl joined up)
It was cool though.
Now one of the guys has his own midi site
