Squash rocks... least you know exactly how far you have to run... ;)
Only once i've run too far - went right through the back door... was a surprise for the spectator sitting behind it at the time, let me tell you... it was a glass-backed court ;)

Well, Footy is soccer
Squash is taking it in turns to hit a small rubber ball with a small tennis like raquet against a wall

Squash truly is an awesome sport. Probly the most physically demanding sport ever.
They had a fitness contest of all the racquet sports and the guy from Squash absolutely blitzed them , no problems at all.

Footy = Football = Soccer (UK Fetish/mania sport)
Sqush = Squash = Fast moving raquet game, played in an enclosed court. Involves two players whacking ball similar to tennis ball as hard as they can against the enclosure wall, the object is to try and hit ball so hard that your opponent has great difficulty in returning the ball into play.
*tip* Don't play squash unless you're super fit and impervious to hard whacks and knee strain !!
My favourite sport *mumbles something*
errr .. oh swimming and cycling !!

ah, but there are subtles my dear;) I would say the idea is to out manouvre your opponent, by using skill, tactics, finesse, deception as well as power.
There is nothing like watching someone crack a ball with such thunderous power and timing and then be able to delicately caress the ball so it just kisses the front wall with the next shot.
A hard-hitting thug will always get torn apart by the master tactician on the squash court.
Think of squash as physical chess.
But on the other side of the coin its also a good game for a giggle, its fun just to hit the ball with a friend or two and truly anyone can play :)
Yeah VOG...but the master tactician will always get torn apart by the hard-hitting thug in the car park after the game....heh heh

Basketball, Bowling, Table Tennis, some swimming and...Scuba Diving!! Let's Dive!!!! Any divers around here?
i love waterpolo. it's an awesome sport... it's very tiring, and often really really violent (lots of underwater cheapshots the ref can't see) but it's great alround fitness. often a good spectator sport. why, you may ask? well, let's just say that when i played i made sure i wore at least 2 pairs of togs! the amount of times girls left the pool with togs hanging off everywhere... the guys games are worse though. the get dacked all the time!! :o

Badminton is the king of sports... no doubt about it.
Badminton is one of the most well known games in the world. However, it is not well known that, at a competitive level, badminton demands many qualities from the shuttler: speed, strength, agility, stamina, skills, accuracy, smartness, mental power and team work.
The badminton shuttle has been clocked at excess of 180mph. (WR) To strike the shuttle at that speed requires enormous skill and power (power = strength * speed), gathering the strength of many muscles in the human body to choreograph a thundering smash. At the other end, returning the smash requires quick response and agility. A slight misjudgement will result in losing the point.
A badminton game can last up to 2 hours where most of the time the players are sprinting from corner to corner in the court while hitting the shuttle with amazing speed and accuracy. Such is the result of many years of rigorous and torturous training.
Great techniques and physical fitness alone is not enough to win a badminton game, a successful player must play smart. Using quick thinking to adapt his/her play to the opponents tactics and weaknesses. Using varying speed and position and deceptive plays to earn a edge over the opponent. In the court, the players are left to their own, help is not available from anyone. The player must maintain high concentration and will power, the game hasn't ended if the scoreboard doesn't say 15.
While single games demand great stamina from the player, double games demand team work and cooperation between the two players. In a doubles game, in addition to thundering attacks and swift defense, one often see quick drives attempting to penetrate and dissolve the coordinating opponent. Any miscommunication between the players may result in gap in the defense.

Right here ..............
I needed to quit smoking and it seemed like the best method would be underwater at 100 feet .......... it worked for me!
(turns out most of all the other divers couldn't wait to puff on resufacing )
....although the blue hole in Belize was a nice side benefit .. swimming with turtles, rays, dolphins ( that I mistook for a shark as I was surfacing out of air )
The Pacific Ocean is so beautiful for diving. Vancouver island around Tofino has awsome kelp beds that just defy any description by me ............. could use some of Zel's descriptive adjectives ................
the best sport of all: soccer!
