Here's your soap box. Post your pet hates here.

"I hate it when....

....you're browsing for midis on the net and someones homepage plays a midi you can't turn off. There you are trying to listen to stuff from other sites you have open and Connie Francis starts off. You don't know what site it is an have to close half a dozen before you get the right one!"

"I hate it when

....you post a request on midi board, check your email and you are told there's a reply. With the nervous excitement of anticipation you go to the thread to collect your requested song in the reply only to read, I want this song as well.

Don't you just wish you could....

Ronny did you know if you have Microsoft internet explorer you can hit stop after the page loads and the midi will stop playing and the animations too if they aren't done in flash or java.

xayissa,

Wow, thats true man. It's bad enough when you close the ad and then another pops, and you repeat like in a race, gotta shut that ad, before it has a chance to start up and kick off another, but....

ever had an ad start another ad before you even try to close it. You get window after window popping up before your eyes, and the after 20 or so windows, the whole damn thing goes "tits up" and you have to restart Internet explorer again from scratch.

And then you thing to yourself, "Well, that was a really f*cking effective marketting strategy... I don't think".

Ronny,

Brill "I hate it when..." scenarios. LOL.

More... More...

This gives me an idea for a new thread.....

I hate it when it really bad all day the day that you have plans to go to an amusement park of an outdoor concert.
I hate it when the day that you have to do work outside it is over 100 degrees (F not C).

I hate it when the only beautiful during the summer you are stuck working inside in a room with no windows.

I also hate it when people complain about the weather.

lol I have to agree with many of these. I hate it when people either accuse a band of selling out or being pop or stuff like that getting defensive when more people know and like previously underground bands.

I guess some people like to call a band their own and feel they lose that closeness with a band once they hit it "big" :hit:

Sorry, i'm not sure if i'm the only one who has experienced this, but lately when i'm loading the midibuddy homepage, this pop up comes up and starts acting like it's downloading something, then i find out its for some free plug in crap, so i press exit, and then all of a sudden a whole bunch of s*** shortcuts appear on my desktop, and i find out they're all from LOP.COM!
I've heard about that site before, it's a damn spyware-installin', browser-screwin', favourites-links-f***in' website, which i think should be damned to hell! Where are the cyberanarchists when u need them???!!!:hit:

Eek. It could be one of focusin.com 's affiliates. Or it could be a popout from another site. It's hard to say what it is till I see it myself. The only onesI've seen is that stupid Bonzi Buddy monkey thing. I'll look into this a little further.

When I pop over to the hittrax side of things I occasionally get a 'gator' download popup..... If, at some point, you checked the "Always trust... ....Gator Inc." then.... yeah...... and the desktop items you mention sound about right.... now is there anyone who might help with some advice on reversing the "Always Trust" command.... ???

Thanks jeaniesing, and tavenger5 for your concern, it makes me feel grateful people out there are trying to help. :p

But i have to say that i never click the "always trust software from this company" option, no matter how reputable they are... :)

It happened again today, but the good news is i found this site called http://www.spywareinfo.com and it has some advice about browser hijacking (so that's the technical term for browser-screwin' :)) and other annoying things that happen to u, so i hope this helps anyone else who's experienced this.

jeanie i think this will help you get rid of gator and something else that might come up. Somethings come up like spyware so be sure to click each one and see what it is before cleaning it, and if you do so one might really cause a problem.

I think you can reverse it but i don't remember how. But i don't think you can. Clicking no each time gator pops up don't seem such a big deal when you think about how long it will take you to recover from it.

I hate it when I go to a fast food joint wanting onion rings and they're "out of" onion rings. Hrm. Didn't buy enough? Had a rush on onion rings today? I mean this happens only, what?, every six months or something - get a craving for onion rings. And the jokers are out. Drove 8 miles to another of the same establishment (I know. Yeah, we wanted them. :)), and guess what? We're out of onion rings. Sheesh.

These things are frozen right???? So theoretically, you could have a week's supply sitting in the freezer.

Is it coincidence? Or is it conspiracy??? I think Osama bin Laden is stockpiling Popeye's onion rings for some kind of terrorist attack.

Okay, I'll shut up. ;)

jeaniesing
03-12-2003, 02:10 PM
So..... are they the kind with REAL onion rings inside the breading? I mean the big, 1/2 inch wide, juicy, thick onions?? or are they little processed onion bits inside of the crunchy part..... there's a big difference y'know...... It'll definitely skew my view of whether the 8 mile drive was worth it for something other than uncovering a devious terrorist plot (I sincerely believe you could be onto something there)....

I absolutely hate it when:

That film you set to record in the middle of the night runs out of tape 3 minutes before the end .. or the timer shuts off too early because the program before over ran.

You turn the last page of a really suspensful book ... only to find it wasnt and the last pages are missing.

You spend hours making your loved ones favourite meal .. and he covers it in ketchup, gulps it in 2 minutes flat .. staring at the tv .. then looks over to you and says something like got any crisps ... chips etc etc .....

I'm sorry about that Ronny.......

If I can explain myself in 80's pop culture terms... there was a TV show "Cheers" about a bar, whose theme song began "Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name".... its FLASH or something, animated, sound and all.. plays watever it is right on the centre of the screen and u cant close it normally like normal windows until it finishes; minimises itself in a smaller frame; and settles itself on the bottom right of the screen!~~~!!!!

you know wat Im talkn bout??

i know exactly what you mean!!

hey, you can stop the animated gifs from flashing by pressing the ecs key.

i am not sure how combat the flash or that irritatiing "minimizable" pop up.

but i feel your pain

So Sparky made the long trip back to the vet peering out the window of the car absorbing every last glimpse like a sponge , knowing ( 'I' think he knew ....) all too well his fate . It's a sad day in the world of animal lovers .... we brought him home for a cpl of days just to give some closure to our family ..... enough said .... this isn't the place to grieve, but I know there are compassionate ppl out there ....thanks Jeanie , Zel , you guys are so thoughtful .... I appreciate your supprt ................ i KNEW i COULD oooops hit the caps .............nuff said ...here's my Sparky legacy pic ...... my mellow handsome cat

My "I hate it when's' usually occur when I am driving...

People who don't indicate and just wander into my lane expecting me to give way...
Drivers who turn using one and a half lanes - leaving you with half a lane to try and negotiate your way thru an intersection....
People who throw cigarette butts out the window...
Trucks that stop very close behind me in my little convertable - usually just to have a look inside d'oh
People who run red lights while you are waiting to turn and you feel like there is gonna be an accident ...
I could go on and on - I think you get the picture!

I hate it when i so look forward to something and I tell my friends all about it but in the end it doesn't work out.

Last year,WWE had an Asian SmackDown! tour and they made a stop here.My aunt said she'd pay for the tix and take us(3 cousins,me and my sis) there so i told a couple of my frinds all about it.But as the day grew near and tix went on sale she said she can't take us as it falls on a schoolweek and we all live in different states :( Then came the announcement that sent me flying high through the roof..they were coming again this year in Dec and the best part is it was the school holidays. This time i had my mouth shut tight. So my very nice aunt booked ringside front row tix and we waited anxiously.I was so looking forward to the even as it was just 2 weeks after I finish my last national level public exam.Thinking 'now that tix are secured nothing can happen to ruin my day' i told a friend or two. Not too long after i got news that the event is cancelled and postponed to next year!!

So i've learnt to accept the plain fact that life just hates me and will try to destroy every opportunity i get at making myself smile

I hate it when people look down on themselves...It's just not right for someone to think the entire world is always watching them for their mistakes... People don't see you for your mistakes or your outside characteristics. They look for the you in you. <<<Well, at least the people you would care to know!...There's my schpiel for the day! *bows* Thank you! Thank you!...^^ I used to be like that...that's why I hate it. :stick: Not like it anymore!

Lmao :laugh2: my aunt once got a cat and named it Rocky..no bloody stains and no,it didn't block access to the bathroom but it did climb curtains and suddenly go wacko-one second it was running around the house like a mad cat and the other it was fast asleep on the sofa..it behaved like a monkey..she tried changing it's name to Tommy but still no luck..lmao
she couldn't take it she simply gave it away to someone else

Whoa Rne!!! hehehe - my former roomie has a dog - Shistzu Schnauzer mix... We lived in the boons and were surrounded by hunting cabins so often held TV-football-game related shindigs 'cause the folks in the seasonal places rarely had cable or TVs... Roomie's pup took an extreme dislike to one of the guys and would look at him and growl non-stop... he worked hard to butter her up - treats... etc etc etc until he finally lured her onto his lap and sat scratching her (doggy heaven - eyes half closed ) for the whole 3rd quarter. Feeling triumphant finally - he set her on the floor to go use the facilities.... she took 3 steps away, turned... and growled at him.....

Ya never know with pets.... never know.....
