a good "tuned" car is one of the callaway twin turbo corvettes

No... A real tuned car is a Nissan Skyline R34 Gt-R Vspec II, about 1000 hp!!!!! Or a Rx-7 GTC (about 600hp and only 800kg!)

Tuning one to that much HP isn't exactly done too often. The car in stock form, with around 300HP is enough to turn heads and win races.

The Skyline is not a practical car. I think that the people in this forum are referring to cars that are available in the U.S and not in Japan. A nice tuned car would be the 2003 BMW M5 with a Stage 3 Dinan mod kit in there. It already packs 394 hp at the crank with the Stage 3 in there would be close to 600 hp at the crank. Its a 6spd manual sedan with about 325lb/ft of torque. Its a torque machine, and the overall performance is sick.

VW were only good when the frames where actually metal,, now they make dents even if you lean on them :-(

VWs do use metal bodies, except for the bumpers (of course) and bumper molding. I know this because I have had two VWs since 1998 and am quite into them.

I believe it is saturn that is notorious for its cars being made of plastic, although they are supposed to be dent resistent.

At any rate, I am certain that new VWs have metal hoods, trunks, doors, roofs, etc.

And if you try out their 1.8turbo engine, you may have trouble dissing them ever again;-)

I like german cars. I love BMW's (M3, M5 330Ci), Audi (A4 1.8T Quattro, S4 Quattro), MBZ (E500, S600, SL55 AMG), I also like japanese cars (94-99 3000GT VR-4, 97 Supra TT, Skyline R34, and RX-7 TT)

by far the best japanese brands i like for cars are mistubishi, and nissan.

as for that... yea its saturn.... i own one of those plastic cars... shopping carts and rubbermaid garbage cans fear me :)

am a bit anti honda civic . . .
but i know a guy who tuned a honda civic and turned it into a Type R. the CTR raced a M3 on the freeway and smoked the M3. hmmmmm . . . . . .
