Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin (PAGE and PLANT),Depeche Mode, Pink Floyd, U2

I have also seen Aerosmith, Roxette, Iron Maiden, Scorpions, Jethro Tull, M.Jackson, Jean Michel Jarre, AC/DC, Alphaville

and many more i canīt remember right now. I will be constantly adding those i will remember :-)

I WANT TO SEE MADONNA (too bad....)

Well, in my opinion Madonna is still the best female singer in the world. No Britney, Christina or all these "live playback queens"

The Backstreet Boys Concert I went to in Ft. Lauderdale was awesome and I'd say my best concert experience.

What was the greatest concert you have been to and why??
Mine definetly has to be Metallica with Jerry Cantrel and Days of the New. I saw them at Thunderbird stadium in Vancouver B.C.The show was awesome...I was front row center when Metallica started and it was worth every bruise on my body...It was a very high energy show, and Hetfield and the boys did great for a bunch of old timers!!!The mosh pit started at the first chord and lasted through all 3 bands...Very intense...
So, tell us your concert tales....

The late, great Frank Sinatra's concert at the Canadian National Exhibition Grandstand in Toronto on a beautiful summer's night sometime in the 70's or 80's. It was one of his comeback concerts, and he just classed up the stadium so nicely. His "Old Man River" was as heartfelt, straightforward and masterful as only the Chairman of the Board could do it, full of nuance and style, yet seemingly simple. It went over really big and he got a lot of requests for it when he came back to Toronto. I know a lot of people like music that pressures you with the beat or waves of sound and energy, and that's all good but sometimes you've got to take the pressure off, and listen to that still, "small" voice which communicates a sense of wisdom and reason. Sinatra was the best at "levelling" with you like that. His voice resonated with truth, experience, and directness. I haven't seen anyone come along to match those qualities.

Well I'd have to say the blink182 concert. Even tho that was the only concert I have ever been to, but it was just fantastic. I never had so much fun. Those guys are funny as hell i tell you. They just blew the place up with their music as well. Not to mention the mosh pits and the women. lol both are deffinetly a plus.

I love the Aussie Rock Scene.

It would have to be the Screaming Jets. Just a pub rock band, but their shows are great. Very high energy, not a huge crowd but plenty of people for the atmosphere.

The BIG DAY OUT"s are pretty awesome as well!!

08-02-2002, 12:04 AM
Yes, the best concert doesn't have to be a big name act,,,Some of my best concerts i have seen from the stage!!!Loads of fun being on the playing end as well as the watching end..I play wireless so I spend a lot of time in the crowd..Moshing is great when you have a big bass in your hands:)

Faith No More, Wellington, New Zealand, 1996?.
Started the set in dinner suits, with Mike playing one of those mouth piano thingys to "theme from midnight cowboy", and finishing the set having discarded the jackets and ties, to "Epic".
Funnest concert?? definately The Presidents Of The United States Of America.

i would have to say summerjam. summerjam is this concert a seattle radio station holds every summer in eastern washington, at the gorge amphitheater..they usually have about 10 top rnb/rap artists perform..sometimes they get wack ass people..but i think the best performance i saw at summerjam was bone thugs n harmony. they know how to keep the crowd entertained! plus the after party at the campgrouds is a huuuuuuge plus! =))

hmm... because I live in Estonia (who does'nt know, it's south from Finland, north from Latvia, west from Russia) then here does'nt have big performers... but here have been Michael Jackson, Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, Metallica, Scooter(many times), A-Ha (is coming again later this month), Bryan Adams (three times now) etc...
I think that my greatest experience was Bryan Adams first concert in 95 or 96, don't remember anymore... The count of people who was listnening to Michael Jackson was almost 80 000. Quite a lot for a small country :)

Mine would have to be Roger Waters(Pink Floyd's bassman & writer) during The Pros and Cons of Hitchicking tour. Eric Clapton was his guitarist for the tour and recording of the album. I had never heard such clean sounds at any concerts. That was at the Montreal Forum and these guys showed us that night what live music should sound like.

Cherry Lips
08-11-2002, 12:58 PM
The best concert that I've seen was the Alanis' concert in '99 and Rock in Rio 3 in '01

Gotta say the best concert ever was Rush at Wembley in 1986. Don't get many big bands in Northern Ireland so the opportunity to see Rush was mega.

(Closely followed by Guns 'N' Roses in Slane 1991.)

The best concert that I ever saw was one put on by Prince. Yes it was even better than Michael Jackson's. He is such a great artist and perfectionist. Every song was even better than the record. Great stage presence and audience involment. Stage set was out of this world. No 1 nodoubt.

the best concert I've ever seen was Faithless in Belgium, Vorst Nationaal.
Everyone was jumping. Next day I read that we created an earthquake. There was damage to buildings that were near to the concert hall.

i went to my first gig on friday. Sum 41 were in Plymouth, England with support from American HI-Fi and Mighty Mighty Bosstones. A-Hi-Fi told the crowd to stop fighting the ****ing pussys. for the bosstones i went down to the mosh and it was an epithany for me and then the Sum 41 mosh was just a crush so i went to the back. good night and cant wait for my next gig.

Bryan Adams in Bombay...I think it was the best show ever! We were right under his nose! He kept looking our way (at my sister and not me, unfortunately) and he threw my sis his guitar plectrum. That was the year when "Please forgive me" was just released.

..................I was at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver for a Johnny Winter concert . Just before the show started I made my way up to the front row of the stage on the chance of catching a glimpse of the greatest slide guitar plyr ever. One of the roadies came over with a chair and said 'Sit here and make sure no one gets between you and Johnny as he is visually impaired' (semi blind ). I sat in my designated chair for the entire show an arms length away from those ripping licks but had to leave during the encore of Highway 61 as my teeth were floating at that time and my bladder got the better of me. What great luck for me. My friends all wondered what happened to me all night but envied me the experience........................................ .......

I have seen plenty of bands live but my absolute favorite to see Live would have to be Thursday.

I really loved seeing this band, the venue I seen them at was very small and intimate. The band play very well live, they surpassed all expectations.

After the concert I met two of the band members and got both their autographs. Boy, that was such a great night. :)

I can't wait to see them live on Halloween Night and again on Sunday, November 2nd!

I concur - that the 'pros and cons' concert mentioned a few posts back with Gilmore and Clapton would have been unique and awesome. My best concerts were Genesis on thet Trick of the Tail tour at the Hammersmith Odeon back in the Supper's Ready days and Led Zep at Knebworth which was also some time ago now. The Genesis concert was memorable because it was Phil Collins first time as front man (Bill Bruford on drums) and the band were proving they could perform without Gabriel. The Zep concert - I don't need to say why that was an event. Glad I was there.

Went to see Iron Maiden in concert for the first time in December last year in Birmingham (UK). B4 they even came on the whole crowd was chanting for them and at one point there was a mexican wave that went round the place bout 10 times. When the band appeared on stage and started to play the sound of the crowds cheers and singing almost drowned out the band themselves.
What I wanna know is what was the best concert you've been to and who inspired the best response from the crowd.

Michael Jackson performed here in Hawaii a while back...and I was not a fan of his when I saw him. I was thoroughly impressed by his show.

I went to the warp tour in Washinton D.C this last summer. I like a
lot of bands I like the Mad Caddies the best. The best concert I have ever seen was Santana in 1968 at the Fillmore west in
San Fransisco It was one of there first major gigs

If these are allowed to be DVDs of live concerts, then my favs are:
Rammstein: Live aus Berlin - tons of pyrotechnics, awesome music
Rammstein: Lichtspielhaus - got lots of various concert pieces on this DVD, along with other stuff... but it's all good
Metallica: S&M - SF Symphony all the way! Can't get any better than that!

Sounds cool, I'm jealous.

My fav show was Paul Okenfold in Chicago at the Riviera. The atmosphere was cool, the music pulsing and the lights were incredible.
