I use Cubase 5 for mostly digital audio. What do you need to know?

I'm currently in a cover band and the files on this site are really helpfull. I wanted to know how many people are using cubase or any VST compatible software because the sounds generated by these instruments are 100 times better than gm or xg or whatever. I've done some songs in midi and rearanged them almost exactly like the original but i wish to post them as a cubase song file. I'ts much more efficient and all the instrument settings are included, not to mention that alot more instruments are available for free all over the net!
I'm almost positive i can get traffic here to swap VST format songs, but i need to know how many people are interested(i do not wish to spend all of my time doing these songs for everyone else and getting nothing in return)!
......so keep me posted.

im not real familiar with any other softwares that edit midis other than cakewalk, well maybe tabledit too, but i guess that can be considered an editor too, so ill have to assume its at www.cubase.com for now.

greendoor, you've got me stumped here. I use cubase, what is the difference between a midifile, and a 'midifile saved in vst format'???

At the shop i work for approx 95% use a cakewalk related subject... very few actually rely on cubases sturdiness...

Hope that helps in some way...

tpearl5, i had a look at cubase v5, but i thought they changed it too much from 3.7. was there much involved in getting used to the newest version, if not i might have another look at it
