I would like to say to all of you new members that this board is much more that a place where you can get your five postings done. Posting promotes companionship and an Identity to the face. I encourage all new members to follow my lead and work their way up the ranks. Get to the level where you can have an avatar. If you get good you will see your name glowing and people will recognize who you are. That is what MIDIBuddy is about.

Alot of us just came here for the MIDI's...but stuck around...the MIDIbuddy Community(and thats what it is....a community) is more than Just MIDI files. THere is a whole plethora of Information here relating to all things music...and there is always someone who knows that answers. So if you have other questions...just post them in the correct forum and the answers shall be yours

yeah it seems like last few months more and more people a joining. It's gotten crazy. I came for the midis for my website but I stayed because it's a great place to hang out and chat about your hobbies and the like. Knowledge is power. I know midibuddy changed servers a few nights back it seems slower than b4 the change. I have dsl. It's like the server won't respond to me for a short while.

Haven't changed yet. Probably this weekend... The errors you see are the reason I'm switching.. I loaded http://64.21.12.54/board/ notice how much faster it is... (the links aren't correct yet... click on the table highlight)

My avatar is changed and good. I don't think anyone would confuse me an voiceofgod, but I wanted to change it anyway. Tell me what you think of it. I'm considering keeping this as my regular one, unless I get feedback that you guys don't like it

56k is limited to 6kb/s. I get 30bk/s for about 15 seconds on big posts so the speed for 56ker's won't matter so much. It won't be a lot faster except when alot of people are using the site at the same time then that's when things get slow.

Ummmmm.... actually I registered so I could possibly meet some muso's to jam with and see what people do these days with music... It's been nearly 20 years since I played in a serious band... and my fingers are starting to get itchy again... I'd turned to Midi's so I could dissect songs and got more interested in them:) I also use them for Karaoke with my DJing

Very True evansst. I sometime use MIDI files so I can look at the notes being played. The it is real easy to learn it if you can't find regular sheet music for it. Also MIDI's have great potential for karaoke songs. Rock on Mr. DJ

I would like to tell all the newbies that if you are going to post, don't wait to do it. I have been a member longer that a lot of people on the board, member since April, but it has a weird story with it. In April, I posted five times so I could get my MIDI's, and then I left and let the board sit. Don't do that. Any newbie who does that isn't using the board for what it is worth. I missed out on all the fun I could have had in the months that my account sat idle, actually I am suprised that pearl didn't delete it. Don't join just so you can get a few MIDI files. There is so much more potential to your account.

It's like real-time soap opera.I don't use chat rooms, but midi buddy is different in that the sole purpose for me is too learn the language of midi compositions so that I too can share my work some day especially all the tunes I've requested but no one has produced yet. blah blah blah

I encourage all new members to follow my lead and work their way up the ranks. Get to the level where you can have an avatar. If you get good you will see your name glowing and people will recognize who you are. That is what MIDIBuddy is about.

I used to look for tabs and chord charts, but I enjoy digging into a good MIDI file now for arrangements. It's really cool to incorporate all of the instruments in some way into a solo guitar arrangement!

long long ago, there was a really good website, something like lauras midi heaven. that place was really good, and i would download as much as i can with my 28k dialup modem. too bad that site changed. has anyone out there heard of that site? i think someone filed a lawsuit against them, and now they only play american clasic music , (i.e, america the beautiful, star spangled banner, etc.)

I recently picked up a motorola i90c with midi ringtone capabilities. I've been messing with midi for several years, but the heart or my sequencing rig has finally passed away: An old atari running Notator. Maybe I'll find a new CPU one day so I don't have to learn new software. Sure its old... but it works! Look forward to making friends.

As of today, I'm only here 'cause I found a MIDI I wanted to download, so now I'm posting to get it.

I use MIDI's as soundtracks for fanfictions I write. They play as you read them, and I try to match up songs with the themes of the stories.

Will I post after 5? Who knows?
