can anyone help me with finding a Professional sound card that will let me input sounds from my guitar and mic using standard input jacks instead of the little ones most standard sound cards use, i wanna really turn my computer into a Professional Recording studio, can this be done. i have a budget upto $300

I dont think (dont quote me) that you will get a good sound card for that price. You could try getting something like a mini disk player and recording straight into that and then just use RCA connection to put the sound that is in the mini disk into your computer. That way you dont lose your solo if the computer crashed too. Make sure you have enough RAM if you are going to be using your computer for that sort of thing

quick bit of info on the card : onboard standard roland midi sounds, patch box with standard 6.5 jack inputs, 8 in, 4 out, midi in, out, through, rca in/out, optic fibre in/out, software as well. I use one myself, just recorded an album with it, if you're interested, reply to this, and i'll give you my home page, there are mp3 snippets of the album on it, to give you an idea of what you can do with this card

Hi!
Does your amp have a line out? If yes, you can just plug the guitar in a line in of any professional soundcard. If not, you need a DI-Box for your guitar if you want to record it with a cable. Did you think of taking the amp with a mic? Sounds better! Does your mic need 48V?
