what exactly is an avatar?

an avatar is a picture under your nickname
and on "posts"

You can create an animated gif and then load it as your avatar... an animated gif is basically an old fashioned cartoon of several still shots fed into a program that will run them right after another. There is a lot of 'animated gif' shareware out there if you want to start playing with it!

i'm sorry but it was cool how he/she made it into a gif because with all those images i thought it would be pretty big but it's not so that's an adcheivement there.

That FFVIII avatar was made using one video & a few other images combined. Have to take off hundreds of frames at the most appropriate places to make the file small and looks not too "disconnected".

Thanks jeaniesing, kept it small by altering the size of the image and removing frames. Before editing, there are about a thousand frames. I took out the parts that I don't want & reduce it to less than a hundred frames thus keeping the file small.

Only 100 frames mine is about 20 frames lol.
still a great job hana_dan, took me quite a while to get the pics together bc i had to take pics of my car at different angles then modify the pics.

yep..... gif animator..... WOOOO! The price went up (free upgrades for life??? YES!)

You'd be amazed at how many frames you can leave out of the 'middle' and people still perceive smooth animation.... another quick trick is to limit your color scheme, and never forget the "optimize" feature (sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't)

just go to ur user cp..then edit options..scroll down and u'll find an option to change ur avatar..click on it and all available avatars will be displayed..then just choose one.

yup..it's real cool..i love the color combination..
i changed my avatar again..thnx to hana_dan for software recommendation..i managed to make one at only 19kb in size..
i probably won't change it..it's hell to make one that small..and i love my avatar..it's the rarely seen People's Sliding Elbow
