MIDI Controller for beginners

Hi all,

I am looking a basic MIDI Controller (cheap and easy to use) to
introduce myself into the MIDI world. I have been recommended both
Roland PC180 or any Mk-Evolution. Any suggestion? Is it important to
support USB?

Most USB keyboards can be powered over the USB cable, and you don't need a
separate MIDI interface or gameport/MIDI cable to connect the keyboard to
the computer.
