does anyone have a good program that changes mp3/wav files to midi file ?

there isn't a program that'll do this directly, however there are programs that read sheet music and translate into midi.

I also searched for such a program - and finally found one...
But the results were absolutely dissatisfying.
Thus, there is no and -I guess- there also won't be a program which can convert audio-files into midi-files with appropriate quality. The problem is that these converters can't distinguish the different instruments and especially the drums in an audiofile can't be translated correctly, as drums have no specific frequency, drums constitute a mixture of frequencies which means that such an audio2midi-converter isn't able to reprodruce in an midi-file.

You basically can't do such thing as taking a mp3 and convert it to midi !!!

even if they did it' would probly be a program you would have to pay for I guess, like shareware, a limited number of converts then ya gotta pay.

I tried a WAV-MIDI converter once - only did 30 secs, couldn't read drum patterns, and decided to add in lots of extra crappy notes. Maybe someday, with better technology...
