DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW I CAN SHRINK THE SIZE OF A MIDI FILE ..W/O CHANGING IT TO A ZIP FILE....I WANT TO KEEP IT A MIDI FILE JUST MAKE IT SMALLER SO I CAN MAKE IT A RINGTONE....ANY SUGGESTIONS..........GOOD LOOKING OUT !:cool:
If you want to make it smaller you need to get a midi editor :D

when you convert the midi choose a lower bitrate

? I did not hear anything about converting to a streaming audio format.
Way too late for this response, but here we go. Some MIDI players (including Winamp) are capable of playing zipped MIDI files with the extension .MIZ . This could potentially restore up to 75% of the space taken my MIDI files on one's disk.

I think they meant it was too big to fit on their phone... and the easiest way is to cut down the lenght of the song, cuz you probably pick up after a couple seconds anyways.
And as for on your disk.. aren't they small enough that it will never really be a problem?
