Any suggestions on best way to connect up SB Audigy2 Platinum,
Zoom1044multitrack recorder, CubaseVST5.1, KorgX5D and Roland RS5 for
someone with limited midi programming knowledge.
Any help appreciated muchly!

Connect the Zoom multitrack to the Line I/O of the sound card.
Get a multiport USB interface and use it for midi I/O for those.
www.midiman.com has all you want, get at least 4 ports for expansion.
In Cubase open all midi I/O's and assign each one to a port--Audigy port 1,
X5D port 2, etc.
Do all your midi first, then mix down to a stereo track, add additional
tracks of audio and mixdown for final.
Since you could then make a CD, I don't know what the multitrack is for
unless you simply want to run those tracks of old mixes into the computer
using the Line in of the soundcard.
It is really not good to remix digital and sine wav but if you keep the sine
tops under -3db you should be okay in Cubase.
