Favorite string on the guitar...

ok this may seem kinda weird ;) but do you have a favorite string on a standard tuning 6 string guitar, one you like to use more or tend to use the most? :p Personally lately, I'm leaning towards the G string myself, no comment :rolleyes:

I had to choose the "B" string...But I choose the low B of a 5 or 6 string bass!!!! Not the higher "B" of a guitar...On my 6 string Bass I get 2 "B" strings!!!

Clearly most men will answer the "G" string. I'm no different! When playing lead it's the most natural to bend for me for some reason.

G string is definitely the best - it is still nice and slinky but is fat enough to have good tone. It is still light enough to get tone bends comfortably but pulls back eagerly enough to pick up subtle finger wiggling! Personally i love to lube up my G string with a light coat of fast fret. I hate dirty G-strings, they get so grubby and lumpy - always got to be a fresh clean G string!
Oh - and you can pull it to whichever side you please - or even slip it back and forth to get lovely deep vibrato!!! :rolleyes:

don't know why but even after you've just tuned up with your high tech tuning pedal or whatever the 'G' string always sounds naff so I think favourite would have to be 'B' you can set of low and go right up the neck and bend it shake it anyway you want it and it still stays in tune.

I guess G is the most familar or comfortable string. It's a habit, you pick up a guitar strum a chord then go for the 1 1/2 tone bend. But I must admit I enjoy the wide high E string bend up past the 12th fret!

Seriously, it's my most used string... I tend to head for those D and A chords when composing... but I like all of 'em and tend to use alternate tunings about 60% of the time anyway so... kinda' along the lines of favourite chord, note or key... I do have a favourite key certainly... but another thread...
