Was just talking to Syntrillum that got bought by Adobe. They're changing
the name of Cool Edit Pro to Audition and the price appears to be dropping
to $169. The reason I say appears is the guy said if I had Cool Edit 2000.
I could upgrade to Audition for $99 and Cool Edit 2000 costs $69.

Good news for fans of the software.

At the demo they gave in SF a few weeks ago, they said the retail
price for Audition would be $299. They also said that people with
previous versions of CoolEdit could upgrade to Audition for $99.

CoolEdit 2000 and CoolEdit Pro1.x owners can updrade for $99. CoolEdit Pro
2.x owners get to upgrade FOC. The new Audition forum on the Adobe forums
site will be open from next weekend, and we think they are going to transfer
the existing Syntrillium forum over to it.

This may be only until they fix some of the nastier bugs.

Like, change pitch on a mid-file segment and watch half the file disappear.

Been there, done that, it has to be more complex than just that.

Simply slowing down the segment does it for me.
YMMV.

This has been fixed in the Audition release.
