View Full Version : Olympia, WA: Female Drummer/Percussionist needed

Darren
08-14-2003, 01:42 PM
I'm looking for a female drummer/percussionist to start jamming with. I
have a bunch of original stuff to work with and build off of. It's all my
own stuff too. A mixture of styles... more progressive rock based. Music
you can feel. I dunno.

Anyway... I've tried a few drummers, guys... and they were too eager to
just beat the crap out of their drums.. they weren't hearing the music. I
need someone that plays by ear. Someone that will accentuate the music.

If you're interested, please email me at, eyesofastranger at mail dot com

Thanks for looking!

Thanks

Well, yeah... race is important. I prefer the Human race. Don't care what
color the skin is. ;-)

Let's put it this way instead... so far, in my life, I've tried about 10,
give or take a couple, male drummers. A couple I could stand.. the rest
kinda grated on my nerves. I'm not trying to teach a drummer how to act,
so... I'm going to try a female. If nothing else, I'm being "gender fair".
;-)

My next door neighbor is supposed to be one of the best studio drummers in
the Pacific Northwest and he's damn good. Says I have chops and that my
music is extraordinary.. but... I don't care for his attitude and that
affects my playing. He's a good person, but yeah. Nope.

Maybe I'm the sensitive one...? ..but I know what I hear in my head and I
want the music that way. Ya know? :-) (don't get me wrong though... I'm
not some cry baby asshole that has fits and shtuff - lol) I just wanna make
my music.

Thanks again, Da Parrot-Chick. :-)

Would you consider a male drummer with a gay drum set? I understand there are
several of those around here.

Time to grow some skin, or get out of the music thing. 9 in ten players have
some type of mental problem. Just take alook around here. ;o)

The thing that's really funny, is that people are so ****ed up inside
themselves, that they need to look to make someone else feel bad, so they
feel good.

Didn't work, but I hear you guys for trying. I suppose imp's can't help
what they do.

Lessee. You post some nonsense about women being more sensitive
drummers than men, and we call you on it and you think *we*
are trying to make you feel bad so that *we* can feel good?
Methinks you have just been hanging around way too many
high school drummers way too much!

How about you listen to the advice you are getting here and
forget about if it pinches your oh-so-sensitive overblown
ego and forget about how we feel personally about you and
take time to actually read and understand what's been
said here. You have posted a very prejudicial post
and it shows your ignorance. Saying that didn't make me
feel better. What would make me feel better is for you
to say, "Hey, I see what you guys are saying, I'm
really looking for a professional drummer/percussionist
who plays well, has a great feel, and also responds to
direction." Have you said that yet? Nope. That means
I don't feel good about you yet!

Hey any time. And as for your wife, maybe you should ASK her
if she'd like that three-way. Sometimes women can surprise you!

Well Darren,
You certainly have shown that you are an ignorant asshole. So only women can
play with sensitivity? You are an asshole. Sounds like you are just looking
for a piece of tail. I have $500.00 here that says old Richard is an ugly
little mutt with a 2" Johnson.

Sexist? Ha! What, are you disappointed about the size of your manhood? Is
that it? Or, are you sad because I didn't pick a boy? Good ****ing grief,
why don't you go get some business?!

Got anything else you wanna cry about? or are you going to get off your ass

First... I've already asked her. Before we were married even. She asked if
I had any fantasies and I told her, "Yeah. You and another woman, with me."
She doesn't want to share me. :-/ Second... wtf are you even doing,
opening a thread that says they are looking for a female??? You got
something you'd like to share with your group? Third... my IQ is somewhere
between 129 and 138. (multiple tests/multiple scores) My brain has no
problem thinking. Therefore, if I decide to say something, it's what I have
experienced and I'm painting a picture for the drummer/percussionist, hoping
they have the mental ability to decide if they are or are not, what I am
looking for. How am I wrong for that? If what I said hurt, maybe you might
wanna change a few things about yourself? If it didn't, you have no reason
to take offense to it. Unless of course, if you just have something to
prove to your pals here, I dunno?

Either way, I won't be wasting any more energy on you as well.

Have a good life. I hope you figure it out soon.

Peace not pieces.

Darren, relax. We joke around. You're new here. You're taking it
too seriously.

Now, are you *sure* it's all the drummers who have the problem and
not you? :-) [see? like that, there]

I hear ya man... it's just that I gave up joking around like that, when I
was in jr high school. I'm 35 now. Sure I can still have fun... but not at
the expense of other's affairs. (affairs - ha! - just adds to the case that
I was looking for a girlfriend, eh?) ;-)

As for the last part of your joking around... yes, I'm sure it IS me. :-)
But it's not a problem, it's just that I play different. And I never said
all male drummers. Just the one's that I've tried. ;-)

Enjoy your day.

Drummers don't trade their sense of respect and dignity when they pick up a

Yeah. Who needs those <whatever things> anyway?
Sticks... <tap tap tap>... no idea what the brand is... nylon tip 7A's ...
definitely a great trade! :-)
