One turntable in this range would be the Optimus Lab-1100 made by RS/Tandy

Unofrtunately, nothing in this price range will produce anything resembling
decent sound.

Don't do it. Just don't do it.

In that budget, you might be able to pick up an old AR turntable and find
a cheap $20 preamp somewhere. Not exactly good-sounding gear, but it at least
gives you a path to upgrade, which most of the new crapboxes don't.

Wouldn't it be easier just to leave your records in the driveway and run
them over with the car a few times?

Don't you have to hold your head against the gear shift to hear 'em that
way?
