Janus Ergo Pedals?

Anyone had a look at these yet? I had the chance to mess around with a
double at my local store, and they sure do feel nice. They were priced a lot
cheaper than the local Eliminators and Iron Cobras, and felt very smooth and
sturdy.

Anyone got any opinions/experience with these?

Haven't seen them yet. But I'd love to check them out. You know
that Janus switchable hat deal was a really goofy idea but
the mechanism was ultra smooth and totally non-jamable. I'm
thinking if these pedals are as well made they just might
be the bargain.

I absolutely loved them. I didn't really like tthe feel of the bigger plates
though. To me it felt like it made the pedals a bit over anxious. The rergo
plates do change the entire feel of the pedal though, it makes them feel
much lighter and the balance is shifted smewhat forward. Very smooth though,
very well built and totally customizable. It was even possible to convert a
right handed twin into a left handed version in about 15 minutes.

I couldn't disagree more, though I only played it for about a minute in the
shop. The hats were ok, the slave pedal was sluggish as hell IMHO. The
switching mechanism worked fine though.

I'm missing something here... aren't you trying to say that the Janus was a
bad idea but it worked really well? I'm saying the whole thing was pretty
****e aside from the left-right switch, which worked pretty well.

Last time I checked one out, *once* the thing was lubed-up and
adjusted properly, it was flawless. It took no more effort to
switch the pedal back and forth than it took to move my foot back
and forth from separate pedals.

The big flaw, was that I didn't like their bass drum pedal. Now
that they had the brains to make the thing a universal hi-hat/slave
mechanism to be used with any double bass pedal, they might have
success. I'll certainly try one out.

Now all they need to do is make it a *triple* and have it move over
to the left for a cowbell or wood block. :-)

I would deffinitly have to agree with you man, one of my best friends
has owned these pedals for quite a while now, and the high hat is
perfect, and I really love the way that the right foot bass pedal
works, but the slave pedal is such a piece of ****, that it ruins the
whole thing. and this is not just his pedal, I have tried these ins
everal different stores, and parties, etc. and the slave pedal sucks
on all of them, but it's all sweet until you try to play with your
double bass.

No, I'm saying the whole thing was a bad idea and was pretty much
****e, except that the mechanics of the mechanism seemed very well
made and thought out. I was talking about the construction not
how it worked or felt. My supposition was that if a well designed
pedal used similar parts and construction there might be a chance
that it'd work well. Which is sort of what you said too, right?
