Jesus, Keith smokes!!! The band is great also. I would have loved to been
there. If I remember correctly, in a recent MD, Keith utilizes pretty
"small" sticks (I know that's subjective)? I mean, he just smack's
everything (that poor floor tom :) ) and uses a lot of his body but the
volume is still "low" (I know that has a lot to do with his technique) but
it just struck me from the pictures the sticks appeared smallish. I love
that loose-open grip he uses. Very, very kewl.
Thanks for that link Randy.

That guy could get his elbows down if he didn't have them drums a-pointin'
all funny-like <g>.
And you're right - those look like pretty small sticks. And they kinda
sound like it too (from what I can tell from my laptop speakers) because
they have that sort of "slap" to 'em. Wish I had the chops to keep ghost
notes going on the snare like that...
Even wierder - he looks a LOT like my brother in law.

Heh - hey George, there was mention of Keith in the Newark Star-Ledger, in
their review of the Steely Dan show...it lauded him for his Aja solo, but
then said he was responsible for the shows low point, when he played what
they referred to as a solo with a hard rock feel in Josie.

The Denver Rocky Mountain News had the opposite opinion in that Keith's
playing kept the concert going.

If Keith is playing "Rock" solos I'll eat my shoes. Don't ever put any stock
in what a music critic says. What he probably didn't mention is that Keith's
solos are getting the biggest standing ovations of the night for his drum
solos. Why is he a music critic? He didn't practice his guitar lessons :-).
