Can anyone tell me who was the guitarist who had his hands cut off by a
dictator(?) in a soccer stadium in the '50s(?) in a Latin American country?

Victor Jara. He was tortured and murdered after the military coup in
Chile in 1973. His hands may or may not have actually been cut off;
some reports say they were broken, but not cut off. Another fine
atrocity courtesy of the CIA.
