I just started taking drumminglessons and bought a Peace Basic drumkit for
275 euro's (300 dollars).

Why a Peace? Because as a newby I have no clue about what I like and want
about a drumkit. So I will play on this kit for the next year or 2 and then
I'm gonna buy the kit and the sound I want :-)

So far the Peace is not a bad kit. I do not have to move it around and so
far the bass-pedal is the only hardware that needs replacement.

Darn ... the drumstool just collapsed :(

id say hang with that kit for 5-6 years - buy good drumheads and learn how
to make those drums sound good. and when you can make those drums sound good
you know what is the sound you want from your next drumset.

(of course the spend-spend-consume-spend-consume-pollute americanos here
will tell you to spend all yer hard earned cash on an awfully expensive
state-of-the-art-gas-consuming-us- drumkit...)

(now we havent had this kinda debate for a while and i feel somewhat
agitated so come on ye, ive got my kalashnikov and lance with the european
flag ready and willing... <grin>)

Mayby I will. I'm euro like you and it is the drummer that makes the
difference, not the drums ;)

I think hardware (pedals), cymbals and drumheads will get replaced in the
next 12 months, growing into this so to speak.

Lol, mayby they will. And mayby I will try to find a vintage kit by then.

Bah, the drumstool is wrecked. I saw a Wide Ass stool advertised in MD ...
