View Full Version : Nomad cases dimensions?

I'm considering buying a set of Nomad cases for my Starclassic Performers
(10/12/14/20, 14SD). I know that some (most?) of you are not very impressed
by these, but I think they would suit my needs (and budget) pretty well.

The problem is that I have to buy them online and don't know the exact inner
dimensions. The options are 10/12/14/20+14SD and 12/13/16/22+14SD. I think
the Starcast mounts won't fit in the smaller cases, but will the larger ones
be way too big? I plan to line the cases with foam so there should be enough
clearance (min 20 mm) for that.

Thanks,
Thomas

I just heard that (some sorts of) foam might cause corrosion of the chrome.
Do you know if this is true? What would be a safe material to use?

I have a set of the 10/12/13/14/16/22 + 14sn Nomad cases I bought
about 2 yrs ago. They're real thin and light and won't hold up
against the elements, but I'm a part-time drummer that plays out maybe
once a month as a hobby... they've been more than good enough for me.

If I have time tonight I'll measure the cases and let you know? The
owner of Nomad is a great guy and would be more than happy to get you
the measurements for the 20" kick case, I bet, but you probably won't
have to worry about that (no SC mount on the kick).

Email me privately to remind me if you still need these tonight...

Don't know about cases, but my bags are the regular (nominal) sizes and they
still fit my SCP toms with the starcast mounts. I didn't have to go a size
up.

Hope that helps,

Dik

I've got some Nomads. I also have 12" and 13" Gretsches on RIMS that
don't fin in respective size Nomads. Never have tried my SCPs in the
Nomads. I put them in H&B fiber.
