Fender guitars with racing stripes

My girlfriend is looking to purchase a Fender guitar with a racing
stripe on the finish. She is very insistant that it is an official
stripe that was on the stock model of the guitar. She needs
authenticity. She doesn't seem to have a preference of model (tele,
jag, strat, any will do), but is looking to spend less than $600 on
it. Anyone who knows of a guitar that fits this discription (a Fender
with a stripe, less than $600), please send a pic to the e-mail

The Cyclone II, Esquire Custom GT and the Competition Mustang all have
racing stripes. I checked the Fender price list and it looks like
MSRP is $650US for the Cyclone II and $900US for the Esquire Custom
GT. I couldn't find a price on the Competition Mustang. If you're
State-side you can probably find these for less in the stores or at
least bargain them down cheaper. Maybe try looking for used.

Probably a Fender Mustang. Not all of them have racing stripes, but it
is original on some of them. If memory serves, the ones I've seen with
the stripe were from the early '70's. I can still remember the catalog
page.
