I have an Asus A7V333 mainboard, with and Cmedia integrated soundcard.
When I connect a Midi cable to the computer, and I start computer, the
system tells "CPU fault" and it doesn't start. (Before starting
Windows XP pro)
The cable is a Soundblaster cable with 4 connectors. In one side, the
connector for the mainboard, and the other side the joystick
connector, and Midi in, and Midi out.

I only connect the cable to the computer leaving free the others.

Before this mainboard I used and Soundblaster AWE64 with the same
cable without problems.

What's happen?

There are two types of cable. One has some electronic components
built in, one doesn't. Maybe you have the one that suits a SB, but
not your motherboard.

There are reports of problems with this board's gameport. Search
http://groups.google.com for" midi Asus A7V333". There may be a real
problem, or they may be using the wrong cable.

Good luck.
