View Full Version : My new gig

I got back from vacation and got a message from a bass player I know that
one of the areas musical icons, Dave Brosky, wanted me to come over to his
rehearsal space and play a bit. This guy has been recording and playing
here for 20 years. Apparently he's tired of working with a "pickup band"
that never rehearsed enough to put together a tight show and hence charged
the bass player with helping him form a new permanent group. Last night I
went over and we all had a blast. Music ranging from R&B, reggae, swing,
and rock both originals and original treatment covers. It felt great to
stretch out a bit from the classic rock/ blues stuff I've been doing for the
last two years. Don't tell anybody, but I actually had the brushes out!!!
Well this morning I got a call from the bass player and we discussed the
business end a bit. But the bottom line is that both he and Steve want me
in. We start rehearsal next week working toward the gigs he has scheduled
starting in October. Great area clubs, some big shows and festivals as well
as private parties plus more recording.
I just wanted to tell y'all (I just got back from Tennessee and Kentucky).

Aaron,
Don't you know that the proper Tom/RMMP spelling is: "Your the man, Sam?" :-)
